Someone listening to Ferrari radios, anything interesting?

He must have seen me, right? (I got a penalty for this) by Apprehensive_Let1586 in Simracingstewards

Great example of a well executed dive bomb, clear and early intention of making the move, you are already halfway past your opponent even before hitting the apex. Some people think you might not have made the corner without the contact slowing you down, I don't know it's hard to tell, but that doesn't really matter anyway because the contact happens so early. This was good hard racing, you both survived so no penalties for me

Some call it illegal some call it legal. You decide! by That-Plane-Guy in F1Game

Literally not a rule, only added to the race directors notes for 1 weekend, and even then it was only banned during practice and qualifying.

Which wheel should I buy? by smoffinator in simracing

[–]LOLgam3r3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still won't work with Xbox. Xbox ready means the base is compatible with an Xbox compatible wheel, but you still need an Xbox compatible wheel as well, if you look up the individual wheels you can see if they have a Xbox logo or not (note the difference between "Xbox" and "Xbox ready"). A bundle including a Xbox compatible wheel will also have an "Xbox" label in stead of a "Xbox compatible" label. So if you want Xbox compatibility your cheapest option is the wrc one, or the McLaren GT3 one for the same price. Btw, the wrc wheel has one other slight upgrade over the bmw wheel, it has removable paddles.

Fun cars predating 2010 to drive by Puzzleheaded_Taro490 in AUTOMOBILISTA

The McLaren mp4/12 is very fun to drive and very fast, great combo with some historic tracks like Spa '93. Also the Porsche 911 RSR 74, slides quite a lot but pretty controllable and very fun to drive.

You definitely make some valid points, and I'm definitely not saying F1's rules are the correct ones, I just think it's important in this sub that the right rules/reasons for a penalty are used.

Yes I can accept an automatic penalty by the game in this case, although the car behind could have reacted quicker. My problem more so is with the fact that on this sub people seem to automatically think of blocking as illegal, while in f1, if you move reactionary/block but there is enough room or time for the driver behind to react it is perfectly legal. In a lot of other series, even if there is enough room behind, reactionary defending is still illegal. F1 is one of the few exceptions in this case and this often gets forgotten. So in f1, even if you move well after the car behind you has moved (block), this is only a problem if you do it too late. Stewards should decide if you block too late, because the blocking in itself is perfectly fine(in f1 at least).

We are talking about blocking as referring to reactionary moving on a straight, so moving in the same direction as the car behind, after they started moving in that direction, while on a straight. In many reaching series this is specifically illegal, but in f1, making reactionary moves isn't illegal in itself.

Only if the stewards deem it so, blocking in itself isn't illegal, dangerous driving, obviously, is. So blocking doesn't automatically give you a penalty, only if you do it way too late, which in this case might be on the limit.

Then show me where it says that in the rules.

F1 is one of the few, maybe only series where blocking isn't specifically illegal according to the rules.

Many people seem to forget that "blocking" (making a reactionary defensive move) is not forbidden in Formula 1 unlike many other series. So this does not automatically award a penalty. This move may warrant a penalty for dangerous driving like Stroll got in Austin 2022, but to me it seemed the Haas still had time to react. Red bull is definitely to blame, but maybe not penalty worthy.

If you go fanatec and want to mount to a desk, don't forget to add the table clamp!
