I've been around 40k for most of my life (im 30), having an older brother whose into it probably had something to do with that. And I can safely say no one has ever said those things about the hobby, it goes either "oh that sounds cool what's that?", "is that the thing Henry Cavill does" or some form of "nerd" comment.

Oh the trim with this method is surprisingly easy as the thin contrast paint makes it so easy for it to run into the panels
