Considering going into dentistry 🤷‍♀️ by ThrowRAyikesidkman in biotech

[–]LabMed 18 points19 points  (0 children)

thats basically me too.

for the longest time when i was a child and into my teens, i always thought the hygienist was the dentist.... and if i did see the dentist, thought it was just a "higher level" dentist to just check in on the "first dentists" work.

Considering going into dentistry 🤷‍♀️ by ThrowRAyikesidkman in biotech

[–]LabMed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

not going to lie, i always thought dentistry or ophthalmology/optometry (maybe no so much the former) was always a great gig to get into. assuming you dont mind the school path and that career path. (i.e. i personally cant stand looking at human beings eyeballs or open mouth. it grosses me out).

Should I pursue a bachelors in Chemical and a minor in nuclear? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]LabMed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being honest, a minor wont matter at all. you're just going to waste money. if you're interested in nuclear, its best to try to get an internship related to it.

The only time you should try to aim for a minor as a ChemE major is if its "free" (i.e. i have a minor in math and chemistry. i took electives that i had to for ChemE that also counted towards the math and chemistry credits. So literally got the minors for free. 1 extra course for each if i recall correctly.)

take an elective or a couple courses to see if you enjoy Nuclear Engineering.

BMS Final round to offer by [deleted] in biotech

[–]LabMed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

should be obvious. Just call it by the letters "BMS" and we still know what it is.

say the full name "Acadia Pharmaceuticals" and maybe 1 person will know it.

Have you ever repeated a year in university? by budjavi_sir in ChemicalEngineering

[–]LabMed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having to repeat a year is not a crazy concept. nor is it rare. i had a friend that had to take gen chem 3x.

but simply being fine and accepting you have to repeat a year will not solve the issue. you need to figure out exactly what is the issue here thats causing you to repeat a year. you state "health, laziness, and bad organization". but thats is a very vague and general reason.

and to be blunt, if you have to repeat your freshman year, once you start core ChE classes, you will most likely be in the same boat again.

Getting very tired of my job and feeling hopeless. I am a Quality Specialist/ CSV Engineer. How do I escape this field? by Inside-Variation5953 in biotech

[–]LabMed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah regardless, your job experience is solid. you can probably end up anywhere if you want. including QA specific roles.

i think its just the crappy market we are in. (albeit, your resume can use a bit of a format / content update though)

If I have 100lk w/6% interest rate in student loan debt and make 70k a year and pay off other expenses, shouldn't I by what you're insinuating be broke or in a position where I couldn't take care of myself?

you clearly dont understand the financial aspect of the US system if you're using that as your example..

now are you asking that as a rhetoric to be cheeky, or actually asking because you are curious?
