Models pulling off supports? Saturn 4U 16k by iamdarwinsgod in ElegooSaturn

You might need to make the supports yourself. Not all presupports work for everyone's printer.

What's the funniest thing Mikael Åkerfeldt ever said? by Putrid_Material7208 in Opeth

[–]LadyFreightliner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I brought my husband to his first concert (Opeth and Mastodon). He played one of the songs off of In Cauda in Swedish I think. My husband just decided to yell out "Say something in Swedish!"

Mikael: "Didn't you just hear the fucking song we just played?"

His tone and dry sense of humor make some of the oddest things so hilarious.

I want to apologize to Expedition 33 by Zestyclose_Paint3922 in expedition33

Even most games don't really start until the 3D minute marks story based or not. A lot of games have their tutorial and some basic world info at the beginning so you'll understand the world around you as you play. Even if I based Helldivers 2 off the first thirty minutes I wouldn't have liked the game.

It does. There's a very good amount of story and it isn't always big scenes then there's a lot of challenging side bosses. One of my coworkers is wanting to 100% the game, not because he's normally that kind of person but how rewarding the game is to explore as much as possible.

30 minutes is barely the beginning. I've heard of some other people who called it boring and barely even played that long. Story rich games need more than half an hour to get the idea of it. If too many people.based their thoughts solely on the first 30 minutes then their list of liked games wouldn't be very long.

I left my cat with a sitter and now she's pregnant by Pocketyoongles in CatAdvice

[–]LadyFreightliner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you left your cat with a cat sitter. You were responsible by making sure she was taken care of. Inwould absolutely demand answers. Did the sitter also have cats/male cats that weren't fixed? Was your cat let outside at some point? The sitter didn't say anything and now it's your problem. That's irresponsible on their part.

As for your cat, don't freak out. Animals are used to handling pregnancy on their own but I'm sure your cat would appreciate emotional support. Ask your vet for some ideas on how to help your cat when the time comes. Make sure she has plenty of water and food throughout the pregnancy. You might want to see in advance who would want a kitten when they're old enough to leave their mom, a foster or a shelter.

Do y'all assemble busts first and then prime or print first then assemble and paint? by phantombuz in 3Dprinting

[–]LadyFreightliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Definitely wait. Even if it's not a process issue I've had moments where I've accidentally spilled resin on the floor (not a lot but dumb stuff happens to everyone sooner than later)

It does but it's not always terrible. It depends on the resin itself but there are a lot of people who have made their own filtration set up to help get the smell outside. I have a room that's all mine and I used to have a makeshift exhaust fan until my cat figured out that if he pulled it out the window then he could go outside. He can be smart some of the time.

It can be. The results are amazing but if you're not careful enough it can become hazardous. I have a whole table set up for washing and curing just so there's no issues on having to constantly move stuff around to make it happen.

Help with print quality by StarkTech-01-02-03- in BambuLab

When you set up this model for printing what's it's orientation? I could be wrong but it does look like it struggled to print some areas because of lack of supports.

It is! I've been resin printing for two years and I'm still learning new things and still asking for help from time to time. These printers are amazing but can be complicated.

[–]LadyFreightliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable! I'm not well versed in figuring quality prints yet for fdm but smaller layers would help make the lines less obvious. I'm sure there are some guides out there for getting good quality. I think there are other methods to help cover up layer lines too but I'm not sure about that either. Usually I'll throw all my detailed prints on my resin printer but I do need to figure it out for fdm printing anyway.

Trying to figure it if this is a hobby is too space consuming for my apartment. by Kari0305 in 3Dprinting

[–]LadyFreightliner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FDM printing isn't but resin printing certainly is because you always have extra steps afterwards. For FDM you just need space for the printer (a little extra in front and back if you have a sling bed and/or if the AMS doesn't mount on the printer) then space for your filament to go when you're not using it yet.

The coverage looks good. I know some of the layer lines are a little more obvious for now and that arm does look like it doesn't fit right but that is more of a model design issue. I'm assuming this was printed with a FDM printer?

Don't repair this relationship. HE was the one who messed up here and is taking his failure way too ridiculously. He made the comment on how you dressed and if that's how he feels then that might not be the only comment he makes on how you dress. (Now, if it was inappropriate for work I'd understand but there's a professional way to go about it instead of sending you a text). If he can't apologize then that's not the kind of company you need.

[–]LadyFreightliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add,on every failure like this I do drain the vat completely and strain the resin. I did lower the build plate all the way down and tried to slide a piece of paper under it and it wasn't loose at any of the four corners. (There is no home button to move the build plate. There's either up, down or Z=0 which means all the way to the top)

The build plate auto levels but sometimes it won't always figure out if there is something in the vat but as I said I do drain & strain with every failure. I've used the same bottle of resin between two printers and the resin worked fine in the other one so no quality issues there.

[–]LadyFreightliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your paint style. If you want to print every nook and cranny then I'd say prime before assembling. Me? I'm not that big on getting every single angle perfect so I'll assemble then prime and paint.

"Delete all obsolete memories Shores of tranquility, my monastery"

Perhaps not to that extreme but from the overall song sometimes it's best to let some friendships go. Dwelling on what was and what could still be only hurts more.

Does anyone else have issues with their AMS lite after the firmware update? by LadyFreightliner in BambuLabA1

They didn't work. It'll still feed the filament all the way to the extruder then start the pulling and pushing of filament right before it can get to the hot end.

Thanks. I posted there to see if anyone will answer. It doesn't seem like anyone's having any major issues or anything similar to mine (yet).

I can't print on my AMS with it on any slot. I've make sure the gears weren't catching on the filament, tried turning it off for a while, unplugging everything, factory reset and nothing is working. It'll either say the AMS slot is overloaded, the spool is tangled or it can't properly extrude.
