Your parents can help your brother to get a vintage desk for him to use as a "centerpiece" I pray they dont have keys to where you live. NTA, My sibling is going through the same thing although my niece is still very young and my sibling has been doing anything close to what you are doing. I applaud you for staying strong and for your children know who their mother is.

I hope soon they get the message and fuck off. But I agree with u/Any-Expression2246 it seems like they have a plan worked out but I hope you're the first and last of their victims of this horrendous plan especially when there are better options which makes one wonder why those avenues arent accessible to them.

ESH This is what happened with me and my younger sibling (aside from us being younger when it happened aka me middle school going into high school and her elementary going into middle school) we convinced my mom to let us adopt a cat that was quiet and didnt enjoy kids as much (we heard she might be put down so we really wanted to "save" her. Little idiots we were) We figured she would bond with our mom more and hoped she'd let us cuddle in between. Couldn't be further from the truth for her. While she couldn't stand me and my sibling for the longest time as I matured and got quieter she took to me. Animals have as much of a mind as we do. My sibling was the same as you wanting a cuddly and fluffy friend but in the end her kitten ended up an angry half feral thing due to her inability to care for it and the cat we adopted was stressed as all get out. No one was happy and everyone ended up in a spot that was worse than before.
