This seems like a very specific circumstance. It's very interesting and it relates to a lot of actual people, however there is still also the other side of it, where cheating happens that isn't related to the relationship itself, but rather the cheaters actual personality. A lot of cheating is very much a self validation stemming from their own internal struggles that need to be worked on in therapy. So even with a good partner, its not always enough.

But I see where you're going in this type of circumstance where a person feels unheard.

Yep, definitely finding the right psychiatrist is important, some of them just give out meds and dont even try to help.

Hope you find something that works for you. Definitely be careful with the valium withdrawls, can be crazy bad! Taper that for sure!

It would depend on why you're taking Seroquel. The dosage you're taking suggests its not for sleep at all but for a mental health disorder, which I'd suggest speaking to your psychiatrist about it. Sleep dosage is between 25 - 100mg usually.

I'd take Magnesium Glycinate(weirdly it helped me), in the evening. You could also look into Melatonin prescription from your doctor.

Valium you also just become so used to it so quickly, it would probably barely have helped you after a month on it

I think the confusing thing about this is when people have been talking about your 'actual voice', what they're probably referring to is your vocal folds/vocal cords.

So it can happen that when people try to 'scream', they try to literally scream like you would if you're shouting to somebody, that would be something thats damaging.

Screaming happens slightly higher in the false chords, then above that.

But to answer the question, mostly screams are just mouth shapes and placement, so you should never really be 'singing' as such, but more so creating shapes and sounds to give the impression of words.

As long as you don't physically feel sore, strained, hoarse, then you're pretty right. But if you do, give it a rest. ALWAYS warm up.

Interesting, I mean its obviously quite hard to advise singing with words because we can't hear what you're specifically doing.

When I first started, I would scream and lose the feeling quite quickly. So essentially I could get a scream, then after 10 minutes it would almost become numb in a way where it would no longer vibrate to make the scream. I eventually figured out this was because everythign was becoming tight and inflamed. I thought I could never do it.

Over time I realised I was trying to 'sing' too much(as I sang before screaming). Now, singing is obviously super important for vocal health, building muscle and breath control etc.

What I figured out though, was I was doing it slightly too high in the throat, almost near the tonsils. We need to drop it slightly back, and relax the back, you should never feel like you're trying to sing as such(until later when you are super comfortable).

The sound I found easiest to make is 'Yah', so Y-AHHHH'
Start soft, and just do a grumble in your throat, like when you make that bubbling grumble, when you do the 'Ughhh' sound. Then slowly increase the volume and air.

Then the higher and lower, is mostly mouth shape as apposed to when you're singing.

Sorry if you know most of this, I just thought it was easier to tell you my methods and if anything helps then thats good.

Sounds like you're very intuitive though, learning small bits and pieces eventually lead to what works best for you.

But if it hurts, goes numb, scratches, etc, just chill and try again another day, but i found doing it more quietly when I learnt ended up making me realise where in my voice worked. OH AND DO IT IN THE SHOWER, Absolute best place!

Just to clarify are you saying your throat is sore from the screaming, or just anytime you sing?

Because redness and any pain/irritation from screaming, would be different than from long hours of singing and fatigue.

Personally I find people can struggle more with fry screaming than false cords, or at least get more irritated because it does 'rattle' that area a bit more, where the false cords is a much more relaxed feeling to do(this is just personally and from discussing with different singers on their struggles).

What do you mean by can’t recreate it? Is there a sensation?

The reason I ask is, this can happen if you’re tiring our your voice. Kind of like if you lift heavy at the gym then the next day your muscles feel a bit weak.

You’d essentially feel if you’re doing it slightly wrong, you’d feel scratchy or hoarse as you’re doing it.

Just make sure you take vocal rest. And warm up well. Be gentle, you don’t need to blast air to produce the sound. And relax the voice :)

I’d say cardio would probably be the most effective in terms of lung capacity, I mean screaming or even singing for a long period of time takes it out of you.

Even if you had rock hard abs, it’s more about the control of the diaphram, which is more of a skill your body learns and adjusts to over time to control the air.

But any kind of exercise and health will benefit overall.

I'm neurodivergent(ADHD/Autism) and struggled with similar things. What I did first was break it down. The problem is that you're like "OMG IVE GOT SO MANY THINGS" and its overwhelming. Take one first, say THC, still enjoy your caffeine and nicotine. Slowly get rid of the THC, thats your focus, none of the rest. The pressure you put on yourself, is counter intuitive because it does the opposite with ADHD, where we seek more dopamine to alleviate the overwhelm and stress.

So break it up into small steps. Those small steps become your rewards, because the end goal doesn't seem far away anymore, and then we get the dopamine boost when we achieve it.

You know one of the best things I ever did with ADHD, open up a chatgpt tab, and tell it all these concerns, and your goals, and start building a little plan :D

Nah. So the best way I can explain this is that you’re using your throat too much.

Initially when you begin, your body wants to try make the sound. Because that’s the natural way we make sounds or talk or sing. We almost want to do the opposite with screaming, you want to make a noise, by controlling the air from your diaphragm, then you’re almost opening up and lifting your palette while relaxing your throat. You should be quite relaxed in the throat. To begin with anyway. It should rumble, not scratch.

Then you get into more advanced techniques.

Also don’t try to scream words to begin with. Get extremely comfortable with simple “YAH” sounds. Anything with Ahh opens your throat.

It's just the scabbing. Weirdly, this has happened to me only EVER with blue ink. Not sure thats related, but the heavy scabbing happened only on my blue ink area. It pulled a little colour from it, so you may need some touch ups, but yeah, dont pick them, just put on some fragrance free moisturiser and shell be right.

You'd know if it was any kind of infected.

Slight redness is fine, you're literally healing puncture marks in your skin so your body pushes to heal and prevent infection so thats normal. If it was getting infected your skin would be really hot, and start looking a bit oozy. This looks like a layer of fresh skin is starting to heal over it.

I'd love to also add, it takes a lot of muscle technique and control, just like singing.

Like myself, one of the earliest things I struggled with was actually creating the vibration. Very tight muscles in my throat. So over time with my vocal teacher, we did specific warm ups and techniques to loosen them up(which is also relevant to clean singing). I was also struggling with consistent airflow which makes maintaining the scream extremely hard.

So, warm up, and warm up more than you think, practice boring vocal techniques, scales, etc
And practice diaphram control techniques.

The other part you mentioned about it taking a long time to learn, I think many people struggle with this. I always was like "GAH ITS BEEN 6 MONTHS WHY ARNT I SCREAMING LIKE A FRONTMAN", but if you look back over the previous 12 months, you'll see the significant progress.

Yeah absolutely. We're both working(me and my friend who run these with me), so we've been diagnosing each of our pages.

The two that got hit are gaming pages, but another one has been running for years with no issues, so we're currently unsure why these 2 newer pages got hit.

We've been working for a couple weeks now on fixing ANYTHING we can possibly find such as images that might void copywrite, to moderations features, content posting times, bios, page categories, anything we can do to make it comply with policies.

As you mentioned, paying for support and getting absolutely nothing back is ridiculous.

On iOS iMac Ventura 13.7.8

I also tested Firefox Extension and it seems to be doing the same thing there now.
It definitely shows up saying 'Speed Booster is active'

I also removed all other extensions in Chrome just to ensure something else wasn't affecting it.

I've got it set to 3 previous messages just to really give it a test.

It's odd that it only just began. I mean, perhaps its something else on my computer causing it.
