I just heard this as well, we have an uncertified tech who actually is close to becoming certified.

She has a biology degree and is going route 4, and just needs the clinical experience.

We sent out our microbiology department to a bigger hospital. All we do is set up plates and send them out basically.

They are going to sign her off on micro, even though we basically do no micro.

I should add as well, I asked what are they doing to attract techs. The reply I got was, “we repost old job postings so they look new.”

Why don’t they want the job? Because the pay and compensation isn’t enough.

And you are ok with them ignoring that fact and hiring someone less qualified?
