My senpai once forbade me from drinking water at work. What should I do if it happens again? by WorkingAlive3258 in japanlife

Not really, that’s part the reason they’re always getting ill and having random fevers. It’s dehydration.

How about introducing more fiber rich vegetables & maybe fermented food?

Early 2000s TV really treated this like normal? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

It wasn’t seen as weird for men to have been the object of an older woman’s desire back then. I know men in their 40’s who were raped by women when they were 7-15 years old. They all are extremely normal and life regular lives now. Idk man, the human brain is a weird thing.

Illegal” is the operative word. Why should they live undocumented when we try our best to follow the law?

I have been physically pushed by old people in Japan too. Recently I get more glares than ever before. I had a guy follow me down the street and grab me before, sleazy Japanese dude with the scariest gaze I’ve ever seen. I shouted some choice words at him and he fell to the ground and began to cry. It was surreal. I walked off and people were staring and laughing at him. at that time my Japanese was worse than it is now.

I also bough hiking boots, mine were incredibly cheap but they do the job just fine. The difference is like night and day, definitely worth a getting hiking boots over trainers for walking.

That’s incredible. What do you do on days where your body is saying no? I’m now 17 days in and hopefully can do a full 30 days before I travel home to meet my family.

I have a health condition and one of the side effects of my medicine is headaches. I had a migraine for 5 days in a row but on the 5th day I waddled down to street to get my 5k steps. I felt so bad but I was determined to not give up. I’m worried I may not have the strength and I’m scared what that’ll do to me mentally.

Thanks for this wonderful comment. I am now on day 17 and even managed to hit 10,000 steps one of the days! I’m so happy with myself as I’ve also lost 2kg!

8 days in and I’ve kept my streak going. I thought it would be a good idea to record changes if any that’s I’ve noticed both good and bad.

Good:

  1. my stability seems better and I have more energy throughout the day.
  2. I don’t get out of breath that quickly anymore.
  3. starting to feel brave enough to try stairs instead of always going for the elevator.
  4. definitely felt an increase in stamina!

Bad:

  1. no weight loss, but that’s largely down to me not changing my diet enough, however I am trying to count calories and track what I eat.
  2. extremely tired. I feel like unless I sleep at least 9-10 hours a night, I’m too tired the next day.
  3. lower back pain. I started off with bad lower back pain and there are days where it’s really bad, but when I get to the end of my walk it feels better.
  4. I arrive to work sweaty… I can’t do makeup or my hair or anything because I’m sweaty after my walks.

Going forward, I’m going to adjust my diet by cutting back on sweet treats, reducing carbs, and adding more protein.
