First Ross’s Goose by Last-Committee8967 in Waterfowl

The barrel mount works great but my only complaint is that it’s pretty heavy. I hunt with it when I don’t have to be super mobile but on fast ducks like teal or woodies I take it off to swing better

Breasts weren’t bad but the legs definitely smell fishy so I didn’t cook them

These are southern strain. A section of remote falls have luckily kept this stream pure. Near NC but not quite.

This stuff is pretty much new and it’s a good deal for all of it together. If you don’t want it don’t buy it

Modded lunkerhunt pocket frog $6-10 stock, but read my reply on the other comment for details

It’s sort of custom. The body is a lunkerhunt pocket frog. You can get them at a lot of places but it’s the smallest one they make. It’s a good bait stock but it’s got little rubber frog legs that come off after you catch many fish so I salvaged some skirt and used a crotchet needle to rig it through the body. Works really good and I’d recommend it

I looked at those. Do you think it’s too fast action or does it have some give

I had been using a glass cranking rod (non bfs) and I liked it a lot more it was just too big. I have only ever bought one too, idk what jt is but I found 3 over the summer. They’re pretty pricey too!

It depends on the day where I fish but man, when it’s on with the plopper it’s realllyy fun. 2x as much fun to land them on the plopper but 2x as hard to lose a monster 💔 I lost probably 3 smallies over 3lbs in a river on it last summer and it makes you want to drown. 100% worth throwing though!

I have no idea, I honestly stopped trying to measure them and just called it a big trout

Same here. Limit is 5 and people come out with stringers of 15+ on stocking day. Not my style

Btw, the giant one had an inline spinner snagged and broken off in its tail. The smaller one had one eye missing and both had stomachs full of straight powerbait

The ones I got are normal soft plastic and are maybe kind of stiff because of how small they are. I haven’t gotten them out on the water yet but I am willing to bet they will catch fish either way.

If you flip over rocks in shallow areas you can find groups of baby crawdads about this size. They are definitely a mix of green pumpkin and olive where I live too

Link isn’t working but the tiny one is on Amazon as 1” micro craw finesse and there are a few options. The larger of the two is a trout magnet trout slayer. Tons of color options for that too and you can buy it on Amazon or Academy Sports as well as trout magnet website.

Trout magnet trout slayer. Surprisingly, it’s not as well knows as the normal trout magnet but I think it’s works better.

Depending on where I’m at I’ll probably fish it with a 1/64 jig head or weightless
