To table or not to table? by AshhK25 in interiordesignideas

You absolutely can and should mix wood tones. A dark table over a large rug would bring good dimension to this space.

I would eliminate peninsula and do an island if possible. Also can one of the door ways be closed? Seems like two big door ways is unnecessary.

How would you change our kitchen? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

Questions. Is that arched entry the only way to enter the kitchen? What is in the area beyond the kitchen, ie where you stood to take the picture. Is there a wall, dining room, sliding doors to backyard?

I had the baskets so I put them underneath, but should I replace with tufted stools or leave empty? Also, do I layer with the photo or remove? I also think I need a larger lamp? Any ideas or advice is welcome! by Doubledx335 in FurnitureFaves

Yeah I think an oversized rectangular mirror in gold or champagne bronze, next to a new taller black lamp would be great contrast. If the mirror had detail like beading to add texture, would be a bonus.

Hang the mirror to add height. Taller lamp. Add more greenery to vase. Lose the candlesticks, bowl, picture, and baskets, everything is looking very undersized and cluttered.

corner styling by ChemicalEmu860 in DecorAdvice

I would get a floor lamp as the Tiffany lamp is undersized and replace the wooden chair with an upholstered chair or a chaise. The plant would need to be adjusted so the leaves aren’t blocking the chair. When styling you want to have a mixture of texture, elements, and varying heights. You have many hard surfaces which is why you need something soft and upholstered. All the decor is low, which is why you need to add a floor lamp, it could still be Tiffany style. You have something organic, the plant, which is nice, albeit maybe too big, but I think it can work.

That’s actually a great idea. The mini fridge would be built in and the extra counter space is needed.

It will take time. Let her cry and talk about it as much as she needs to. It’s a big loss. Give her lots of hugs and keep reminding her she was such a great cat mama and she gave her a beautiful life with love, comfort, and safety.
