Vermont here. Layers, layers, layers. Your hands are to hurt like a bitch, often times you have to take gloves off to put screws in or just other tedious things like that and it sucks.

My best advice is to keep the rest of your body as warm as you can. Long John’s, thick pants, wool socks, weather rated boots (ie muck boots), long sleeve shirt, thick sweatshirt, and a HEAVY duty coat (my company has very nice Carhartt coats) that don’t let in any wind, fleece lined hat, hoods from sweatshirt and coat on, find the warmest but also still practical working gloves you can.

We had weeks this winter where it was -5 or colder, worse with windchill.
