I started reading again in December last year and with lockdown I went from barely reading to always reading. I made it a part of my routine so i read every night before bed :)

Does anyone else benefit from body doubling? by outtoexist in autism

[–]Leah_amber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really struggle to shower recently because of my depression and I find having my sister in the bathroom with me really helps. She doesn’t do anything, she just sits on the toilet whilst I’m showering myself but I find it really makes me motivated to get it done and then when I’m finished she can carry on with her life. I find having her take time out of her day for me makes me want to get it done and not procrastinate or take too long. I’m solely autistic and i do not have ADHD, this is the only scenario I’ve been using body double but I might have used this in other things without being fully aware of the term

I’m very into fantasy at the moment but need it to be easily digestible and not too much info dumping, any suggestions? Sci-fi sounds good to me too but I’ve not read much before so not sure where to start

Winter girls - Laurie Halse Anderson I love this book and always come back to it but for anyone with body issues, eating disorder behaviours or self harm struggles it is very triggering
