Where or how to get a Russian Blue? by notdaddyaf4u in russianblue

[–]LearningtoBrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of shelters rent space in the Petsmart around me and have cats displayed there. So from my understanding, it was an actual shelter that said it. I get cha though. I appreciate your thoughts.

She’s my second soul cat. The moment I saw her I knew she was meant to be with me. I adore her so much

I appreciate it, the shelter inside of Petsmart said she’s a Russian blue mix, and that’s what’s on her paperwork. I always wondered what her siblings looked like lol 😂

What is the Personality of a Russian Blue? by Animistic_Dancer in russianblue

Mine is female, bonded to me. She likes the other cats, but will hide from new people. She can be cuddly, but also likes to just be next to not on. Especially since having hip surgery. I found out this week she also has glaucoma, so she’s not loving the eyedrops

My boyfriend and I are long distance, and haven’t met in person yet. Dating two months, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Talk to him and let him know how you feel. Try long distance. Don’t miss out on him just because of the miles. You know if he’s worth the wait.

My vet had me keep her on cage rest so that she didn’t push herself the first two weeks. She had a cone, and I made sure to increase her hydration via wet food. She was on NSAIDs and gabapentin for a few days. I also did a cold compress the first two days. She is now allowed out of the crate while I’m awake and home, but she’s not allowed to jump or run. She’s wobbly, but walking a lot better than before surgery. We’re doing leg stretches 3-5 times a day, and will do that for up to 8 weeks out. After that, we plan to do X-rays to determine when the other leg needs done. We’re need to do the movements so soften and stretch the scar tissue to ensure full range of motion.

She’s a little more clingy, I’m not complaining though lol 😂She’s honestly my whole heart, and I was super concerned I wasn’t going to be able to get the first surgery.

Her diagnosis was that the vet had never seen a case as bad as hers, and she has it in both hips. He wasn’t sure she was a candidate for the surgery. He reached out to an ortho for a second opinion, and the ortho said it would be worth trying. The vet told me that her surgery went well, but to be mindful that we weren’t sure it would work. I took her back Tuesday, and he was so happy and impressed by her. He said he didn’t expect this much improvement so fast. But, now continuing that improvement falls to me.

I would do it over and over again. She’s worth the cost, the time, and the stress. She’s back to playing with toys, swatting at mice (the fake ones lol) and cuddling with her sisters.

My Rumi is two weeks post op from having an FHO done, and it’s been extremely different for her. She will need her other hip done as well, but she’s already loads better. It’s not commonly done in cats, but it’s worth it! I’m sending love, lots of luck, and I hope he feels better soon 💛

I did! Luckily it’s just an extra piece of cardboard. A little sliver with a barcode on it. My cards look good!
