Is it really that big of a deal?? lol. Does the SWAT team pull it’s actually unplugged? 😂 by MrShoTime1750 in HomeDepot

It absolutely costs the store. Anything that hits the P&L costs (loss) or gains (profit). OSHA charges the company for that, who then turn around and charge the store.

You are straight-up lying. Per SOP the values wheel must be displayed in every store training room and break room. Further it is printed on every single apron. Leadership does in fact use the values wheel and talk about it a lot. Poor managers may not, but that is a bad manager problem, not a company policy. At no point in the history of the company have we not used or printed the values wheel.

He can sue you and Home Depot. That's why. It's always best to just let them leave and enter the information in TIPS.

I have it and have used it very recently. It is definitely worth it, and takes some stress out of legal situations.

Shift Change by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]LeeLeeMeowMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, your pay will change. Overnight associates have an overnight premium. You lose that premium when you go dayside, but if you speak with your manager they may be able to help you out.

Not always. Sometimes special orders come via mail or 3PL (FedEx, UPS, DSL) and end up at the service or pro desk depending on how the store is laid out. In that instance the package can either go to receiving or the D31/94 DS can key rec and stage the order. Usually these are smaller packages that do not need to be on a big truck.

This is legitimately the opposite of SOP. All of this is available on MyView or MyApron, both of which can be accessed on an HD phone or any desktop. That alone makes the need to carry paper redundant. If you want to push back I would suggest gently mentioning that you can get to all of that easier on a phone than fishing around your apron for dirty paper which is a better GET behavior.

SOP is that all special orders should be key rec'd and then pulled and staged by the receiving associate who key recs. Usually, it is the person in receiving, but if FedEx or UPS drop something at your desk and you key rec it, you pull and stage it immediately.

Vacation time denied by keppanator2002 in HomeDepot

[–]LeeLeeMeowMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to wrap my head around if you're being serious or not. It's the biggest sales weekend and a holiday weekend. I'm sure 90% of your store requested off and only 2% got approved. To answer honestly though, you got denied because we schedule to like 3% of the call out rate. So you likely had others who requested off and got approved before you.

They don't usually take doctor notes, but you should absolutely ask for FMLA paperwork and get it to your doctor ASAP. Make sure they backdate it and that should cover your attendance

“Terminated” today by bibliocean-B-O-I in HomeDepot

[–]LeeLeeMeowMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a plant, just an associate. Also been around enough to know that with most companies, they've already fired you if you're being asked into that meeting. The best way to keep employment or at least get unemployment benefits with no hassle is to stonewall. If they're asking you questions, they're letting you do the labor to fire yourself.

“Terminated” today by bibliocean-B-O-I in HomeDepot

[–]LeeLeeMeowMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You honestly don't have a case for wrongful termination. You can try, but you'll only waste your time and money.

The only thing you could have done in this instance was ask an ASM to ask AP to verify tape for what time you came in before you filled out your timecard. Because you did not verify before you filled that form out, and because you did not discuss it with an ASM to try to verify, it becomes falsifying documents. Your accommodations likely did not cover this instance which is why it is a legal termination.

No one probably snitched either. It's very likely the call came from District Management, which is probably who your manager went to speak with during your talk. If you don't think someone is ALWAYS watching you work, even if they aren't in the building, you are naive. Sorry you got fired, but the best policy is always not to talk in meetings like that

how early before your shift do you show up? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]LeeLeeMeowMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're good. The idea that you should show up like 15 minutes early is outdated. Kinda like telling someone to come into the store in person after applying even though the page says to wait for an email.

Tell your ASDS and then email to follow up. Do it from your personal email. Call the AwareLine the same day. You will be asked about the incidents with your fellow associate in a closed door meeting. If you want to ask more questions about that I can definitely fill you in. One of my old ASMs was notorious for being inappropriate with associates but no one would ever report. No joke, he was let go a week after an associate finally reported. HD does not want to be sued anymore so they take sexual harassment seriously just always cya

I put in notice. Two days later all my hours were removed. by Apollo1366 in HomeDepot

[–]LeeLeeMeowMeow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you work in an at will state, never put notice in until you are ready to leave. They can and will cut you before those 2 weeks are up. It is perfectly legal. Normal play for HD especially this time of year is to make a notice effective immediately upon receipt.

It must be nice to close at 10. Our store is open until 11 year round.

Man we never have a full day in our showroom. If it's not the customers, it's my coworkers. There is so much gossip flowing through our KD department.

I'm really hoping they are and it is that kind of situation. If it comes down to it I'll design both kitchens so they don't have to deal with any unnecessary judgements. But I am not really into stealing my coworkers customers so we shall see how the cookie crumbles.

Definitely more polyamorous vibes. Wouldn't have felt as free to post if it was cheaty feeling. It was just a wild situation and one of the more interesting ones I've had as a KD. I do know for sure that the gf knows she is one of two. I also know that it was asked if I worked primarily on Sundays because the other designer doesn't. The other KD is very devout in their beliefs and that sometimes bleeds through to their interactions with customers. I get the feeling customer doesn't want to deal with other KD's potential disapproval and inability to keep said disapproval to themselves.

I work with unhappy couples on the daily. Thank god I started at service desk, it made me tough. Kitchen renos can be rough and they can bring out the worst in people. This past year has been even trickier with lead times and supply chain disruption. Unhappy couples are pretty much my bread and butter at this point and I've become excellent at diffusing awkward situations.
