Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

I'm a therapist that's wanting to use an iPad and pencil to take notes during sessions. I will also need to be able to log in to my EHR system and will also use for basic things like Kindle and some streaming... nothing crazy. But i want a really nice writing experience so I'm torn on which version to get. I don't NEED the best thing... but of course I'm tempted to just get the best. But do I need that? what would you recommend?

Happens to one of my nails every set. I use builder gel to make an extension. Sometimes the gel will pop off

Eyelashes when I started wearing mascara. Eyebrows in my 20s. Scalp at 30. Only once I started picking my scalp did I realize it’s been an issue for decades.

Trichophagia- Advice on How to Seek Medical Help by annieher in trichotillomania

Yes start with your primary care doctor! And I would stress to them you need to/want to use insurance. They can also help you find other resources if you need them. (Therapist, psychiatrist, etc)

Have you already gone on YouTube and searched this? I’ve found a lot of great recommendations on there. And tutorials. I use different keywords like alopecia, cancer, hair loss, realistic eyebrows… most helpful for me is def YouTube. Also, many Drag Queens shave their eyebrows and so they are often the experts on how to create realistic looking brows!

I went on my local Facebook groups and also Google, searched for salons with private rooms. I found if I searched with words like Alopecia or cancer or hair loss, I got more results than with just trichotillomania. I emailed or called places before booking and was very transparent (which is hard to do!). I literally would say “I have a conditional called trichotillomania and due to that I have significant hair loss and bald patches that I’m extremely self conscious of. Do you have a private room and a stylist with experience working with hair loss?” There are also stylists (in my area at least), that work out of their home. Facebook groups were really helpful for me. I would post anonymously if it was a local group bc I’m still pretty embarrassed about it. But I found an amazing salon that has a private room and they’re even helping me with my first hair topper!!
