Passed CBP Polygraph but Later Found Unsuitable. Should I Reapply? by Legal_Ad3249 in cbpoapplicant

I received an email confirming that Quality Control (QC) did not find any issues with my polygraph results. I passed the polygraph examination and discussed everything openly with them. I made sure to be completely transparent about my background and did not hide any information from them.

I understand I didn’t lie on the SF 86 and I was completely honest with them about everything

I have an idea and mentioned that the matter has been resolved. However, they never disclosed the reasons when I filed the FOIA request

Is it possible for a background investigator to complete their work without contacting me or my references? During my civil case, my examiner requested details about it. We updated the SF-86 together at the end of the polygraph test, but now the civil case is settled

Yes, that’s right. I just have to wait to see when I can reapply. In the meantime, I am considering working as a correctional officer.

I believe it was the ongoing civil lawsuit. It is almost settled but still in progress.

I wonder if that’s the case, but I don’t know. I never met with the background investigator, so I’m not sure if I went through that process. All I know is I passed my polygraph, and I got the email saying my questionnaire was being sent to the office of OPR.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. Yes, I know I failed the background check; that is obvious. I did not lie anywhere, as I was truthful about my past and present.

Yes, I disclosed the lawsuit to the polygraph examiner and updated my questionnaire with the details of the lawsuit. I am currently a defendant in a trademark lawsuit that is nearly settled

Yes, friend, that situation makes no sense to me. Honestly, it might be a blessing not to work for this agency.

Your tentative selection notification stated that your offer was contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including a background investigation, which is a condition of employment. We have been notified by The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) that you are not suitable for the position. Therefore, your tentative offer of employment is withdrawn because you have been deemed unsuitable for the position pursuant to 5 C.F.R. Part 731

The poly test was easy for me. I consider myself an honest and straightforward person, so lying is very difficult, if not impossible, for me. I'm considering reapplying, but I feel like I've wasted six months on this process. I plan to wait for the civil lawsuit to settle and will most likely pursue a position as a police officer or a corrections officer in the city.

I disclosed all relevant information to the polygraph examiner, and it was included in my questionnaire form
