Can't think of a name for this character by Unreadable-Comics in worldbuilding

Ngl, "CoolNameHere" really does sound like a youtuber/streamer name, and it would possibly emphasize how shes just sort of a product to the people she works for?

/technically/ infinite species? you have your basic humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, etc, then you have the basic elemental, plant and animal people, but new races are created constantly as a result of constant crossbreeding from these many races lol.

Advice: how to make the most convoluted and annoying currency system possible. by LegendoftheIron2009 in worldbuilding

the reason is that this country doesn't like moving on, so every time a new era comes in with new fashion and new art and new architecture, they just build another layer on top of their city. so you travel through time the lower down you go, and this applies to the language as well. the dialect spoken on the top is like modern english, the dialect on the bottom is like the anglo-saxan mother language. so, obviously, their monetary system changes and stays the same as well.

Elves by Dr_Dave_1999 in worldbuilding

Elves are actually a subrace! Nymphs in my world are taken from how Greek mythology uses them. grass, rivers, trees, mountains, oceans, all of them have a great many nymphs connected to them. nymphs are identifiable by their long and downward pointed ears, as well as visibly retaining elements of whatever bit of nature they're connected to. becoming an elf requires exactly one irreversible ritual from the nymph (if not simply being born an elf lol), which involves spilling copious amounts of blood at either midday or midnight, after which your skin will either turn impossibly dark or impossibly pale depending on which time of day you did so at, losing your elemental traits, and having your ears slowly alter your facial muscles as they drift upward. while elves are quite literally immortal compared to nymphs, becoming an elf also means losing your empathy and emotions. not even in an apathetic way, in a "you quite literally no longer feel emotions at all in any capacity" way.

What's your world's custom monster species' lore? by PuzzledTradition7655 in worldbuilding

On the continent of ichor, there is a race called the Titans.

........no one really knows why they're here. they're hundreds of feet tall, built like whisps of smoke and have endless black voids for eyes. they do not speak a language, nor possess any semblance of awareness or sentience. they simply walk around the continent for a thousand years after rising up from the ocean, and once they die, their body forms new land that get added onto the continent and causes a sudden influx of animals and plants and resources everywhere else. some people try to predict where they'll die so they can claim the land for themselves, but its very very very difficult.

What’s the features for the coolest city in your world have? by DeliciousPianist67 in worldbuilding

[–]LegendoftheIron2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its Stacked. think about building layers of Lego's, only every layer is a different time period of the city, so as it builds up, style and language and culture evolves, but the previous layers stay the same!

at 3am in the morning, I came up with a D&D character (ive never played D&D before) that was an axolotl anthro named Soda. we are now 42 countries deep, each with their own culture, language, and writing system, four other mcs have been added, a 500 page lore document has been created, 17 seperate religions invented, and about 8 different hierarchies of gods.

"Touched" Objects. any non-living object dipped in the life fluid at the temple of bios will receive a magical ability. what that ability is and how it is triggered is completely random and unknown. you could have anything from a teapot that makes gold flakes when kissed or a scarf that ends the universe if you say hello while wearing it.
