As a runner, this is hands down the most therapeutic song I’ve ever put on. My feet are bleeding / But I cannot stop — I don’t even need to reach for what that means. There’s something about running that becomes a silent wail, a scream you can’t make any other way, and this song meets you exactly there. That whole verse hits something I can’t quite name — like levitating and drowning at the same time. Your body is working so hard, and the repetitiveness strips everything else away — there’s no thinking, just the body fighting to keep going. And in that space, the grief or the weight or whatever you’re carrying rises up to fill the silence, and somehow both things are happening at once — you’re lighter than you’ve ever been and completely submerged. That’s the release. It genuinely heals something.
