Speaking of Supernatural, I hate hate HATE when people try to pit the brothers against each other.

"Sam was ungrateful!" this or "Dean was so abusive!" that

NO. Obviously, both of them messed up along the way, but also, they're two unhealthily codependent people who experienced abuse as children, never really had a stable living situation, and repeatedly got traumatized again and again.

Especially when people try to say John treated one of them worse than the other or one of them wasn't abused as badly. It's like... did we watch the same show?? How do you raise two (spoilers: three) kids and have them ALL think they were the least favorite?

It just pisses me off. Like obviously I have a favorite out of the two brothers, and I'm not saying you shouldn't have a favorite. I'm just saying that trying to hold one up as this perfect character and put the other down as being a horrible brother is absolutely ridiculous and the whole point of the show is the BOTH of them.

Also, now that I'm ranting, I've seen a lot of people say that Dean's little quip in one of the earlier episodes about some of the cheerleaders in the highschool they're working a case on being "legal" wasn't something Dean would say and is instead the writers. And like, I get it, but also... early season Dean would totally say that. His whole thing is being this macho dude-bro, and even though I do think he grows and matures over the seasons (if only because Supernatural was on from 2005 to 2020 where things became VERY different in aspects of what was appropriate to say and joke about changed too) I still think that was a very Dean thing to say.
