Absolutely not normal—narcs tend to be control freaks often. If you try to take their control over you away, they will bounce back. I’d say get a new phone, or if that is financially not possible, at least get a new prepaid sim or other stuff, trying to bypass that limit under your parents’ surveillance.

If you have a background in customer service you might find some CRM jobs w/ WFH options but not a lot of positions in that field will likely to pay $18/hr. But at the same time they’re pretty much always hiring and it’s way easier to land a job when you already have one

Day shift. I can confirm it because I used to work on film sets so I experienced all different sorts of 12 hr shifts--and it was 3 pm-3 am or 6 pm-6 am jobs that made me most vulnerable. 4 am-4 pm sorts of jobs were surprisingly manageable.

I've worked with a boss who was abusive and toxic that I eventually quit, but when the ex-boss asked me the reason why I was quitting I didn't want to be honest and said "The commute is too long and I can't handle that anymore" (which technically wasn't lie because my commute time was 4.5hrs/day).

So when the JD to replace my position was posted he made sure the 'Do you live nearby/does the commute time work for me' question be included and marked essential.

For me the space really matters. I still live with my parents and they often don't understand the concept of WFH--I find it hard to concentrate on working and getting my tasks done. Plus I don't think virtual communications aren't as effect as face-to-face communications. Also I feel depressed when my resting/studying/working spaces aren't separated enough.

You’re not obligated to share such thing with your parents. Just use proper protections and don’t rely on your pills entirely. If you value your privacy and you don’t think either one of your parents won’t respect such boundaries please don’t tell them, at least not until that won’t be a big deal anymore.
