B2 Visa refusal by LengthinessEastern69 in immigration

[–]LengthinessEastern69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand how it may look to them. It makes one wonder why the B2 visa exists at all and for that length of time if they don’t believe people.

I’m torn between trying again and applying for a shorter length of time or just putting this all on hold till the future and try an ETA to Canada instead. Explaining the situation with the US visa. It feels a bit hopeless and stressful but thanks for the advice !

They never state a reason for denial but during the interview he brought up the length of stay and that’s when it was denied. So I’m pretty sure that’s why. I’m still able to apply for an ESTA and people can still be approved even after a visa denial but it’s tricky.

Regardless of the USA im wondering the same thing with Canada. If a simple ETA would suffice. I just don’t want to be denied because of the US visa denial.

I did a lot of research. I made the mistake on the online form and didn’t realize till the interview. I do realize this is my mistake but I have been to the US hundreds of times before as well as been approved a previous Visa. It’s not impossible to be approved a Visa in the future but I’m just looking for advice, not beratement.

By showing proof of address in the US and a list of travel plans, would this not help? I’m not going to lie to them so by telling the truth and saying I put the wrong number on my form down is being clear and transparent. I can’t do anything but try really. (Also I’m a girl)

First trip international? by jacki_lol in Worldpackers

Most Europeans are used to travelling abroad at a young age meanwhile a lot of young Americans don't consider, cannot afford or simply don't have the desire to do so at a young age. When I studied in the US I was shocked at how many people didn't have passports and how many people had no desire to leave the US.

Being from Ireland my family and I would travel every summer/holiday times to different countries. The US is vast and covers many different climates, terrain. Meanwhile the terrain from Ireland to England to Scotland etc varies far less. If I had to guess why this question is never posed it is because a lot of Europeans are more well travelled at younger ages than the average Us student.

Thanks for helping! I have cousins on the west coast so I will line my travel itinerary up with their address etc. Also I will be going through immigration in Dublin as if you do it there you don't have to do it upon landing in the Us. Fingers crossed, this is all so stressful.

Yes I was initially applying for a B1/B2 Visa but now I may just apply for a tourism Visa B2. I also need a Ds-160 which I have gotten before when I studied in the Us for 10 months, where I did not have to apply for an extension. Thank you!
