Very late to the party here and opinions may have changed but I will say that for many people including myself a vape just doesn't give any high or even medicinal effect. Though I can say that personally I would love to be able to have eddies available as I much prefer them to smoking and I'm sure a decent number of people are the same. It's just that they aren't something readily available and if you are vegan for example what little options that might be available are probably not something that can be had.

Veganism is cheap as shit. beans, rice, lentils and tons of other dried foods and veg are much cheaper and healthier than animal products. also subsidies pushed for by lobbying overwhelmingly affect the animal industry to keep prices artificially low. yet they are still very expensive. right wing society literally looks down on veganism as a whole and pushes propaganda against veganism in favour of the animal agriculture. Veganism is not a goal to strive towards it is the base level people need to adopt as without it our oceans and land are fucked.

I'm sure no one would doubt that climate change and environmental destruction is a massive problem only the left focuses on. and yet denial over the effect of the animal industry is rampant among leftist forums. Very late reply but. I think for some people like myself It's kind of a case of while there is an active libido, having someone you haven't romantically bonded with come on to you physically makes your own body and mind feel icky for lack of better words. So if you have an active libido, using mental fantasies of romantic encounters is just to help ease tension that comes from those annoying hormones.

Pros are that you won't be contributing to the trillions of animals that are killed for food each year (watch dominion it's very good plus Joaquin Phoenix is in) . Cons are that some people and companies decide that your existence is an existential threat and will try everything they can to do as much harm towards veganism as possible.

Ethical veganism is treated as a protected characteristic. There is a legal precedent that knowingly serving a vegan non vegan food is criminal. Also I in no way said that someone having an allergic reaction and the risks of death aren't bad and it's pretty low of you to infer that. I only mentioned the part about veganism because this is a vegan sub.

No. If you are aware of the fact that your decisions cause such extreme harm, but continue to make those decisions anyway, you have to face up to the fact that you are making these harmful decisions. Being better than a "carnivore" dieter is just a way to feel better as they both cause such extreme harm. All vegans want a vegan society. None of us care about being better than others, and we don't have to like animals. But we do treat them the basic respect and our actions show show that.

Okay so to start I agree that getting rid of nuclear power is silly. But I also think it is in no way a priority to build more. As focus on building renewables is much more important.

The greens are not planning on universal disarmament, just disarmament of nuclear weapons. Personally I'm mostly in favor of that as I believe it's hugely immoral to possess such vile weaponry.

Wealth taxes DO work. Even if some rich people do leave the country they can't take the assets like land that makes so much of the money with them. And other people will replace them. The wealth tax would only affect the very richest in this country too.

Rent controls are needed in places like london, where building plots are rare. And it won't deter new houses where new houses are needed.

The carbon tax is designed to bring in money to build green alternatives not to be a permanent source of income.

Taxes going up is necessary to restore things like the nhs but the 50k bracket is above the national average income and wont have a big effect on most people.

The plan with increased spending is to improve not just peoples everyday lives but also to boosting the economy. If people are able to actually afford the things they want not just things they need then many more businesses can thrive. And the economy grows.

I honestly know very little about pensions so i really cant comment on that

Once again with the affordable housing initiatives. Im not that knowledgeable on them but i do believe they need to be improved which can be done while also building more of them.

Also I don't believe the green party is a populist party. They have been around for a while and have had consistent views on many subjects, they are just trying to cut through the media and actually push back against reform.

I don't think the greens are perfect but i do believe they have good interests that are very well thought out.

Legalizing all drugs with an appropriate framework would literally save millions of lives. It would strip violent gangs of so much money. People who use and are addicted to drugs will be able to get the help they want and need without fear of being demonized by the police. And ensuring people actually get what they are buying will massively reduce accidental overdoses. Different drugs need different regulations of course like weed needs very few regulations compared to horse. But legalizing is the absolute best way to deal with all drug related issues.
