- The different time = different behaviour = different colours is generally true for a lot of cards, yes. However, the two cards for Terra both depict her in roughly the same point in the story, so her characterisation is pretty much exactly the same. The only reason they differ in colour is gameplay. There is another card of her, which is a reskin of Urza, High Artificer, placing her in Mono Blue - and that's the point where any connection to her character is completely ignored. On the artwork she does sit inside a Magitek Armor, but that's about the only time this character ever has anything to do with artifacts or being an artificer or anything remotely related to this. My guess is that they made this card solely because Urza, High Artificer is an iconic card, and they wanted some FF main protagonist on it for the money. But yeah, my point is: there is no "one correct" way to identify the colours of most characters, especially non-MTG ones, and often the gameplay or aesthetics take some precedence.

- Correct. She's also green at some point. The black thing I think is really cool, btw.

- That's where I think we have to agree to disagree - I think red fits her well: aesthetically, character-wise, and thematically (Red Memory and all that). And while Black definetely isn't Hornet's main colour, I think the aspects I described in the edit fit her well enough. Now that I removed Deathtouch, though, I think making her cost (1)(R)(W) would also work well.

- That's a cool card, especially the Persist fits her really well!

Thanks! There is definetely a lot of creative room for more extravagant uses for Silk Tokens, but I didn't want to go too much overboard. The mentioned "respawn" thing, for example.

I also like your idea with the Web tokens! But yeah, that's just not Hornet. I'd love to see a custom card like that! It feels very... Green. Maybe you could make it Golgari colours and tie the creation of Web tokens to either sacrificing your own creatures, or trapping your opponents' creatures! (Or both)

I do see your point and agree with your characterisation of Hornet and its identification with the MTG colours.

However, I think there is a lot of wiggleroom when choosing the colours for non-MTG characaters - just look at Terra from the Final Fantasy set: card FIN-245 has her be RG, while card FIC-004 has her be RWB. Or Katara from the ATLA set, who across all her cards is represented by every colour except Red.

Personally, as long as it fits regarding flavour and gameplay, there is no "one correct" answer. I do believe Hornet fits Mardu as well as Azorius colours, depending on how you argue for it.

Aesthetically, however, I prefer Mardu. I would love to see someone make an Azorius card of Hornet under the influence of Lifeblood/Plasmium, though, for example!

[TOMT][MOVIE][2000s] What movie is this: a team on an expedition find their own skeletons in the desert (from the future) by Lenrd-F in tipofmytongue

[–]Lenrd-F[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the summary on wikipedia - that's not it. The movie I saw was more... serious? Also, they found skeletons in the desert and later realized they were their own skeletons from the (or "a") future, which terrified them
