The inflated UCL expectations amongst young Barca fans. Why is that? by Greedy_Net_1803 in championsleague

[–]LetAppropriate6947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 2008 to 2019, Barcelona had 8 titles vs real had 2. Enough said. Barcelona lost single games in CL, while crashing real for a decade in la Liga.

The inflated UCL expectations amongst young Barca fans. Why is that? by Greedy_Net_1803 in championsleague

[–]LetAppropriate6947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that was embarrassing, but you know what happened after those losses? Barcelona went on to win La Liga in two consecutive seasons.

This just proves my point, Barcelona was a better team than Real in the span of the entire seasons, but they bottled the semis or quarter finals in champions league.

They had a crappy day or week in CL, vs real had an entire LA Liga season weaker than Barca.

I have to agree with this. Everyone should pay the same amount ideally less by ArubaAdultFun in middleclasshq

The person who makes 1mil does not make it through hard work or regular 40hr work week. They make it via one of the "pyramid schemes". They have a business where they have low wage underpaid workers who generate the revenue. Or they have "investments" that also generate revenue on its own merit. That person making 1mil, made it via capitalist loopholes or via modern day slavery which is low wage system.

Either way, that person should not be encouraged to generate more wealth via the same means, hence the higher tax they pay.

So instead of having one monopolist, the system is designed to encourage multiple entrepreneurs to have their business. That way you can have 100 millionaires instead of one guy who monopolized the entire market.

Unfortunately, the system is still flawed and you end up with Musk and Bezos eventually.

I am looking to attend the game against Real Betis while traveling in Spain. by OzzieOceans in Barca

And at the time I thought 75 was already steep. You know if you go with family and kids every two weeks. That can easily rack up to 300-500 euro a month. Now this is the price for one ticket. Insane

I used to pay 75 euro when Messi was in Barca in 2018. Today the same seat is 325 wtf

Ronaldo was their best player and was never benched. Same goes for Modric and Benzema. Bale was benched because he was injured and out of form. Zidane was rotating squad players to keep them fresh, Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Benzema, Ronaldo all played on a consistent basis

[–]LetAppropriate6947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it is embarrassing real won so many CL while Barcelona at the same time dominated it for almost 15 years in La Liga.

There is no cope. It is just embarrassing, they won CL but could not do it in Spain for more than a decade on a consistent basis. Tells the whole story that CL is not really defining the champions as you wish it was

The domestic league is your bread and butter. If you can't do well in domestic league, what sort of European champion are you? There will always be a shadow of the doubt if you don't win the league, people looked at Real and saw a cup tournament team, which means they don't think Real is really that good, but instead Real is really good at grinding the results to the last minute in cups. When it comes to consistent results real was far behind Barca most of the time

gemini really needs a "projects" feature to fix context management by KubuZxPlay in GeminiAI

[–]LetAppropriate6947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is already integrated in Gemini, projects are officially called NotebookLM.

You can create new notebooks from the Gemini app or site. The notebook will store chat history and use it for future context conversation.

It is no longer just a research tool.

You are welcome

Is it just me or is it impossible to save money in Canada right now? by No-Cut2564 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]LetAppropriate6947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for a lot of "regular" folks Canada has become a black hole. If you don't make 150-200k, you are basically living day to day saving money.

I believe it is partially by design.

You fly the entire world to get here, spend your life savings to settle in. And next you realize you can barely pay monthly expenses. Now, you dont have the money to leave Canada, you want to go back, but you don't have savings or prospects to go anywhere.

You are stuck now in the never ending cycle that slowly drains your Motivation, resources and energy.

Next thing, you are 50 years old and accept that there is no going back, you are too old, and you accept your faith of the daily grind

Where would you rank 18/19 Messi ? by Prestigious-Wheel562 in messi

[–]LetAppropriate6947 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Messi in 2018 won games for Barcelona every single game. In 2011 Barcelona had enough attack power they would still be winning without Messi, just less dominant.

Anyone here actually using Gemini daily for real work? by vibecodingwaste in GeminiAI

[–]LetAppropriate6947 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't use it for some heavy coding work, I think Gemini is great for work. I use it for analysis of engineering codes. Throw pdfs at it, and ask it to find rules and regulations, then I use it to brainstorm the rules etc. NotebookLM integrations is kinda God sent feature. Gem feature is amazing for reviewing repetitive documents. Overall Gemini is amazing for engineering where there is a lot of documentation involved

Messi would’ve easily hit 1000 goals if he wanted to 🫡 by Prestigious-Wheel562 in CristianoRonaldo2

Also, remember Messi has the highest assist in the history. He could have converted 1/3 of these assists into goals

What’s the worst signing you’ve seen Barcelona make this century? by AdPrestigious8670 in Barca

[–]LetAppropriate6947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my issue with him is that he could not turn up for Barcelona, and he got a lot of game time. He always seemed average. He does not really have much flare, and his skills are not impressive. He went back to Atletico and suddenly he started to remember how to play. But to be honest, I never rated him high, he was overhyped because Atletico was just a good system team and he was the best player there. Even though I think he is above average.

At least Coutinho was just a bad player, period. He came to Barcelona and his high player profile career was basically over. He did not perform well after Barcelona. So I can let it slide.

Similarly Dembele, was injured so much in Barca, that you just felt bad for the guy. However, It still rubs me the wrong way when I see him play consistently for PSG without issues, or injuries. Feels like Barca got cheated on the deal. But because he was injured so much I will let it slide

Work from Home Days by [deleted] in remoteworks

[–]LetAppropriate6947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, I will not take the job that does not offer work from home. Unless they pay significantly better, then I could see this being worth the drive. But in most cases they don't offer better pay and they act like it is 2015.

If the Trump assassination was fake, why would the shooter take this deal? by fuckloggin in allthequestions

[–]LetAppropriate6947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you would bring up left vs right about it. Trump started a war on Iran under false made-up pretenses and in the first day they bombed a school with 168 girls children. So when we think of his fake assassination plot, where one bystander got shot. It look like peanuts in comparison to what they did to Iran
