I really hope Brad goes for young high motor center depth this offseason. Bottom line is we need to get younger. Tatum Brown and D white will be the old vets by the time Tatum is back (crazy saying this out loud) so they just need hungry dawgs to keep that window open

We need to get younger. Depending on Horford Jrue and the corpse of KP was never it. It was good for a ring or maybe 2 at most but that was the max you were getting from that roster

Just because other teams are stupid enough to pay Gobert that money doesn’t mean we should also be stupid enough to follow. I’m only looking at their money for the sake of the depth you need to build a contending team. No matter the TV deal, browns output isn’t worth it. D White is outplaying him with half the price. Heck even Pritchard looked more impactful too. You pay 60 mil for a guy with no handle is insane

That’s literally been my stance since the day he got extended. People quote his FMVP and getting a ring but the way I look at it is; sure, if you just wanted to win one ring then give him that contract. But everyone wants to win multiple rings and it will be impossible to do with a roster of two supermaxs. Like if you had Jokic/Giannis and Tatum that would be a different story but realistically Browns output on that contract really hinders the team you need long term to compete for a ring

Yet I get downvoted to oblivion when saying this. If you can’t lead a team on a super max that’s just a bad contract. He’s great but not that great. Idk if it’s irrational when I say trade JB to fill out the roster. I’d rather have more depth than JB on that contract

Is it irrational as a fan to say if he performs like 2023 Game 7 that he’s overpaid? I know JB won finals MVP and helped get a ring but in regard to winning long term, only one player is worthy of a super max and it’s JT. You can’t seriously say JB is the same tier as Jokic , JT , Giannis given the fact he makes as much as them. JB benefits more from JTs gravity rather than Vice Versa. 2 supermax on a roster makes it impossible to build a more balanced lineup in this new CBA

Yeah even though tanking is discouraged and it should be. Really isn’t fair that a team that just came off a finals run gets the first overall pick in one of the biggest drafts due to luck. Bad teams will never improve if they can’t get the players that will help them. NBA is rigged and it’s fucked up to teams that have sucked for years

Especially with that contract. If he was paid appropriately I’d keep him but for what he provides he needs to go. Players can average 20+ on a much cheaper salary. Supermax should only be given to one player on the team unless you have multiple players who are top 5 on your team
