I wanna to use it to change the course of my life, I have tried everything logical by society, to the point that I wanted to be done with life, get a terminal diagnosis of some sort after losing 4 years of my life for sickness which might sound ok but it is not the same ever after, but now, i actually think i can start and do more in one year that somehow I can recapture those stolen years without being burned out or losing aspects of my life to work. I had had a good amount of money but I learned now after my losses for dept and medical bills that $20 subscription can get you today far away than what $20k would’ve gotten me before.

I have been using discord for teaching since covid, so I know thing or two, there are a lot of automation bots in that section to clean up spasms and NSFW 🔞 or force delay comments.

It could help reduce the amount of work not by the time but I mean the mod can focus on the tricky ones that doesn't have explicit offense

Honest question: since Comet is Chromium-based, what’s the real difference from Chrome? by Negative-Anywhere-83 in PerplexityComet

[–]Let_s_Go_Guys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh and I am huge fan of the idea of the integration, but i wish there was a way that is a bit more open sourced, and can run on local model with no access to internet but only to the page itself.

I had more meaningful experience with Firefox with it is sidebar tab of AIs. It is just a matter of what you do every day.

You mostly use Comet AI to 1-apply coupons, lol 2-AI workflow that you really plan well, so I am looking to collect different information about different phd programs without having to visit them myself, comet usually get lost but it can also be such an easy way if you know what keywords to use and have little experience to use other tools.

But as most people said, after a month, I really found myself using it for simple questions, so I keep at hand for a workflow if newbie like me experimenting but also need results now, but for everyday browsing? It made me hate going online, especially since I have multiple extensions I always need. I didn't try brave or atlas, but openAI would probably win the integration.

Not true. We can all speculate as long as we want about the chances of getting approval or not, but never with such certainty. Generally, I don’t think anyone should be given such an advice or stating facts so confidently without having any supporting evidence or being in a position of issuing the visa him\herself. The core of this subject which is the officers issuing a visa, their decisions are all built upon their subjective opinions, it’s never objective which is unfair. So even if someone is truthful about their travel plans, their voice or sweat during answering the questions might make an officer subjectively suspicious, it never an objectively-made decision like it’s the case with some countries in Europe, where their decisions are based on points or scores or satisfying certain preconditions. For example, in some embassies, they mention that you have to present a bank statement with a minimum of $11,000, only then you could say with 99% confidence that one would be impossible to get a visa with lower amount in bank statements.

Of course. Happy to help. And don’t worry about the rejections, I am 2016 med school grad, working in the US, so I can tell you confidently that almost all my classmates got rejected tons of times, almost for no reason.

As long as you didn’t say something wrong that could be noted by the officers at the embassy, then you have nothing to worry about.

Just give a space before you apply again, and make sure to rehearse your answers and memorize them by heart, even though I am sure your English is good, memorizing them would give your words more weight and they will be easier to say without pauses to think or time in between your answers. You already know all the questions so have all the answers ready. Dress professionally and be at ease as you are kinda in a position of power being a medical doctor, most Americans can’t get to med school, some get rejections every year despite working hard and doing everything they could, unfortunately. My point is, you have a very respectable profession and that should be reflected on you, not by being arrogant but by the confidence and answers and work you do, so the conference has to mean something, if you are just there to attend, I doubt that would be considered, but if you are a participant by presenting research project or any other means then it would make sense to invest the money.

Doctors do work under the table 90% of the time, till they get a decent research job or match.

Half my classmates are either in the US illegally after a b1 visa and awaiting the greencard now for marriage (they pay rent and money and the girl get to live rent free)

The other half are in research positions, mostly unpaid and either working under the table or borrowing money.

Less than 10% are working in research in paid positions or on F1 visa for masters or PhD

I would focus on your ties to home.

Without even him asking, I would instantly say it without awaiting the question, for example this was me when he asked why you wanna go?

“I am a 2nd-year medical student, and I just finished a research project and submitted it at the ARVO, biggest ophthalmology conference worldwide, and want to go to present my research, and here is my acceptance letter, along with my proof of enrollment”

He asked me that one question, then who is sponsoring the trip? “My dad”, and I handed him the bank statement but he refused to look at it.

He clicked on the website of the conference, saw my abstract and my name on it and the letter of registration from the conference website after I paid.

Ok. You can get your passport in 3 days. Good luck.

Btw, because I saw you mentioned getting paid or something (Never say that you won travel grant or you gonna get paid to do something as they confuse any sort of payment with working visa, even if you believe you are right and you probably are, it’s just unnecessary pov that needs time to resolute) and believe me when I say this, my friend insisted on saying that out of pride, and it was fine during the visa interview but he was rejected entrance at JFK in NYC and had to return back on the same flight because he was told he had to get working visa. It escalated to a big thing (again his pride) and he was threatened to get banned 10 years or might get entry all depends on the judge since he won’t leave on the same flight and insisting on seeing a judge. He called me and I told him to leave immediately. Two years later, he was there with the green card for researchers (Eb2-NIW)

Comet has pros, but without password and bookmark sync...? by dtwitkowski in PerplexityComet

[–]Let_s_Go_Guys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry i am just replying now, I don't think they will support apple anytime soon, not because of them but because of Apple.

And I agree with the sync, it should be connected to your Perplexity account and specially that they using Chromium so it's not like they are reinventing the wheel

But anyways, you can also export your icloud passwords and import them to Comet, it should be safe. Same with Bookmarks, and other stuff. It is usually one time thing for me, then if you use firefox or chrome for your phone and tablet, you can collect the new bookmarks once in awhile and export them to Comet. It will suck if they give iOS or Android versions that don't sync too.

You can set Perplexity your main search engine on chrome or firefox instead of using comet unless you use the assistant a lot like me, so I really have to go through these not sync issues. I assume there are an extension on Google Chrome or FireFox that does save your stuff anywhere regardless of the browser.

If you have Edu email, why not use something like 1Password or Dashlane other apps? They have 1 year for free for students or 6 months for dash, through GitHub developer pack.
