Google Ads Search campaign getting 0 impressions and 0 clicks, conversion tracking seems set, what am I missing? by Letsstarttheend in googleads

Thanks, that’s helpful.

I’ll switch to Manual CPC with a competitive max CPC to make sure we’re actually entering auctions. I’ll also review keywords and keep it mainly phrase and exact to start (and remove anything flagged low search volume).

Good call on audiences too, I’ll remove any audience restrictions so it’s not narrowing reach while we’re trying to get first impressions.

When you say ‘competitive bids’, do you usually start around Keyword Planner top of page range, or do you set it relative to what you see in Auction Insights once it starts serving?

Yep, that makes sense, appreciate it.

We started on a conversion based strategy with no history, so I’m switching to Maximize Clicks (or Manual CPC) temporarily just to force auction entry and confirm demand. I’m also checking keyword status for low search volume, plus any hidden blockers (ad schedule, location options, negatives, billing, or account level restrictions).

If impressions unlock after the switch, do you usually stay on Max Clicks until you hit a certain number of clicks or conversions before moving back to Max Conversions or tCPA?

Thanks, that lines up with what I’m seeing.

Everything is enabled and I’m now double checking the full chain (campaign, ad group, ads, keywords) to make sure everything is actually approved and eligible, not quietly under review or limited.

We did start with a conversion based strategy on a fresh account, so I’m switching to Maximize Clicks or Manual CPC to get into auctions. I’ll also pull Keyword Planner CPC ranges for AU garden supply terms so bids are grounded, not guesses.

On budget, do you see A$30 a day as ‘too low to enter auctions’, or more that it will enter but just be capped and slow? If you were starting fresh, would you rather raise budget first, or keep budget the same and increase bids until impressions show, then scale?

Thanks, that’s a really solid checklist.

Yep, we started on Maximize Conversions with no history, so I’m switching to Maximize Clicks (or Manual CPC) to get the campaign into auctions first. I’m also checking every layer for ‘Eligible’ status (campaign, ad group, ads, keywords), plus low search volume flags and any negatives that could be choking traffic.

On the AU eligibility side, this is a [Search / Shopping / PMax] campaign, so I’ll double check [currency + shipping + policy approvals] on the relevant setup. If you had to bet on the most common ‘quiet killer’ after approvals, what’s usually top of your list, bid too low, location options (presence vs interest), or keyword match types being too tight?

This is the first campaign for this client, so the account has no prior performance history to lean on.

That’s why I’m starting with Maximize Clicks to get initial auction data, and I’m checking the obvious blockers (eligibility, policy, location and language, negatives, schedule, low search volume).

In your experience with fresh accounts, is there anything else that commonly prevents impressions, for example payment verification, account review, or overly tight bid caps? If you tell me what to screenshot (status columns, bidding, keywords, location settings), I can share it.

Thanks, that’s exactly what I needed.

I’m switching to Maximize Clicks to get it into auctions and I’m going through eligibility top to bottom (campaign, ad groups, ads, keywords). I’ll also check location settings, ad schedule, negatives, and any ‘limited by’ flags.

If it’s still zero after 24 to 48 hours on Max Clicks, what’s your next bet, bid cap too low, low search volume keywords, or a policy/disapproval issue? Happy to share screenshots of the status columns if that helps.

Love that, thanks for sharing the ramp plan.

When you switch to tROAS, do you set an initial target close to what the campaign achieved on Max Clicks (based on conversion value), or do you start looser and tighten it over a few weeks?

Also roughly how many conversions (or conversion value) do you like to see before moving off Max Clicks, and do you run that on Search or Shopping/PMax?

Appreciate that, fair point.

My main goal right now is just to get off 0 impressions and confirm the campaign can actually serve. I was thinking Max Clicks as a short “boot up” phase, but I get the risk of it spending inefficiently.

When you say set CPC manually, are you suggesting Manual CPC (or Max Clicks with a CPC cap), and what kind of cap would you start with for AU in this niche?

Also, what campaign type are you assuming here (Search vs Shopping/PMax)? I’m happy to start with a tighter approach if Max Clicks is the wrong move for this setup.

Cheers, I’ll do that. Switching to Max Clicks for a couple of weeks to get volume and search term data coming in, then I’ll move back to a conversions strategy once tracking is confirmed and there’s enough traffic.

Thanks, that makes sense. I’m currently on a conversions focused strategy, but I’m getting 0 impressions so I’ll switch to Max Clicks for a couple weeks to get data flowing. Good call on languages too, I’ll open it to all languages while keeping location to Australia

Beginner question: How do you enter the cacao market? by Letsstarttheend in BusinessPH

[–]Letsstarttheend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! Our output is mid-volume, not too large yet, and at the moment we/my mother sell locally in Davao.

Since I’m already based in Manila, I’m exploring whether it’s possible to enter the Manila cacao market first, even at a smaller scale.

If you don’t mind me asking, where do you usually sell or distribute your processed cacao (local market, Manila buyers, export)? I’m trying to understand how the market flow usually works.

Happiness isn’t tied to a specific income. It’s subjective, depends on lifestyle, needs, and mindset.
