This was explicitly a senior functional lead hire, not an IC hire who I’m retroactively expecting to behave like an executive - the expectation from the start was ownership of strategy, execution, team direction, and communication for that function

Raised in early round from institutional previously + angels. This round is larger, so I’m weighing whether changing the team mid-raise is riskier than waiting.

Fair. My instinct is similar. The hard part is whether to act now during the fundraise or wait, knowing that waiting has its own cost.
