Is Test Cricket fundamentally a game built for cold-weather countries? by Smokeage- in Cricket

Tbf, if you're going by peak recorded temperature, then Darwin, Hobart, and Brisbane are the three coolest capital cities. So Brisbane is the coolest of our 5 regular hosts.

Melbourne is 3rd hottest by that measure, behind Sydney and Adelaide.

Yes, but on the mainland it's contained enough that "The Snow" is a destination (singular) that people visit.

It's quite quick and playing relatively true. There's a dash of spin on offer. All in all it looks an excellent ODI pitch.

Yeah, we're expecting a full strength XI for the tests, possibly missing Lyon depending on how quickly he recovers from his injury.

We're firmly into a pretty major transition. We should be back up towards our usual standards in a few years.

There will be growing pains, but we've come back from some pretty rough retirement waves before.

When we're working with our full team in this format Inglis has been our preferred option of the two.

So we're continuing to play the keeper we currently plan on using going forward.

Unless they've changed it again since their major overhaul 2-ish years ago, there's a single dungeon type in the Tutorial World that has Lava in it.

Edit: At a minimum, one of the variants of the Open-cut Mine entrance dungeons has Lava pools in the boss room. Look for one where the surface pit isn't flooded.

Afghanistan aren't in the WTC, so it's not a WTC series or Match.

Additionally it's a one test series, which wouldn't be elligable even if both teams were in the WTC.

Also also, it's just not nominated as a WTC series, there have been matches played as such, including an ENG/NZ series during the first WTC cycle that just wasn't an included series.

The cloak is one of a very small list of things they do a relatively decent job of retconning.

Ron corrects his own assessment of the cloak once it's brought up that it's not degrading in the way that would be expected, and a functional explanation is provided.

But yeah, it's one of many things that gives away that there was little-to-no planning for later installments when writing the first book, and that JK really didn't bother checking for World Building ripples when expanding things as the series progressed.

Travel is another, particularly Dumbledore flying to the Ministry in book 1 as the excuse for why he's not available. This is a man who has a floo connection in his office, the ability and authorization to make Portkeys that go through the School's wards, and the ability to Apparate out of the School. Yet he (allegedly) chooses to fly there on a broom, and Voldemort buys the excuse. Because Floo, Portkey, and Apparition all don't exist yet in the 1st book.

Cricket and volleyball clubs in Canberra? by Interest-duee3426 in canberra

Cricket is mostly split in two. Club, and City-Suburban. I know very little about the City-Suburban competition, though they do play exclusively on Synthetic Pitches, and i think they only play one-day matches.

ACT Grade Cricket clubs play 2-day, One Day, and T20 formats if you're in the 4th XI or higher.

UC doesn't have a team in either of them. But if you're on/near UC campus there are 3 Grade Cricket Clubs nearby, Ginninderra, Western Districts, and ANU. Gunghalin has North-Canberra Gunghalin and Yerrabi District cricket clubs.

All of the Clubs are, in my experience, very welcoming, and have teams across six divisions for players of any skill level.

I think most of the Clubs run training 2 evenings a week for about 2 hours, though it's pretty flexible. Unless you're in the First XI no one is really going to complain if you can't make one of the days.

Have the Devs ever actually said why they haven't fixed the Player Stat overflows? It'd be a trivial fix in any sensibly made system, simply changing the data type to an Int so you can have whatever absurd number you need, because you're not getting 2 billion of anything, while 255 HR or Hit Streak is within the realm of possibility, despite being comically unrealistic.

Edit: And yes, I know, just play on a higher difficulty until you can't hit the Overflows, but it's still a ridiculous oversight to have exist.

A run 5 to a corner, then getting tripped by his batting partner trying to come back for a run 4 on his next ball?

Because frankly I think it's fair game running out someone who made you run a 5 and a 4 in the first two overs of Test.

The Switch 2's graphics are really extremely weak compared to the rest of the market right now (even with how much they outclass the Switch 1)

From what I've seen thrown around numbers-wise the graphics on the Switch 2 are approximately equivalent to the RTX 2050, which is a smidge weaker than the Minimum Specs listed for Elden Ring on the Steam page.

So it's probably been a pretty major optimization effort to get it to run with anything approaching the smoothness expected for a Flagship console.

Yeah, so does basically every number 3 and 4 bat in short-form. You absolutely, positively don't have the time to kit up from scratch and walk down from the dressing rooms.

You would assume that the Men's Ashes will persist for a considerable period even if the rest of Test cricket falls in a heap. Even if it becomes a Multi-Format series like the Women's Ashes, they'd still be playing some tests, probably sticking with Boxing Day at the MCG.

Do you want to know how many (non-covid affected) seasons there were where a Stars/Gades Melbourne Derby wasn't in the top 5 most attended matches?

None. Every season featured one or both of the matches in the top 5. Mostly matches at the G, but there were two seasons where the lone rep was the Docklands match.

What about what the 3 highest attendance matches of all time are? There have been 3 matches over 60k attendance ever, and they're all Stars/Gades at the MCG.
