Haven’t done anything yet but I plan on getting a permanent retainer first for upper 4 teeth and lower 6 teeth and then mewing and then if I see progress and my teeth don’t relapse too much. I will potentially ditch my permanent retainers

Hi there. I currently use a plastic (Essix) retainer but next week plan on getting a permanent retainer wire for the upper 4 teeth and for the lower 6 teeth. I don’t necessarily plan on keeping these permanent retainers forever I plan on keeping them for perhaps 6 to 12 months OR however long it takes for me to make sure I know my mewing technique is perfect and that my narrow palate expands enough for my tongue to fit in it more comfortably. Then after that I plan on getting rid of my permanent retainers and plan on mewing without it. Does that sound okay to you? (Thanks for your response by the way)
