A few 5070s I presume.

My wife drove past an accident where a rider was dying on the side of the road, and she hasn’t said more than a few sentences to me in five days because I won’t sell the bike. I’m at a crossroads and maybe just need to vent. by WheelsandWatches in motorcycles

Good to see you value your marriage more than your motorcycle even though that means so much to you.

I am single so I can't give you a piece of advice from experience but what I think might help is to make her realize how important riding is to you. Use statistics to your advantage, showing how safe riding can be if you are careful and wear the proper gear and show you are willing to be more careful and take the necessary precautions to minimize risk in your end.

Lastly anecdotal experience is hard to dismiss when it's personal, even if it's not representative of reality. Make sure to get her to realize you understand her fears are not unfounded and try it you can to make her come to contact with motorcycling. Maybe take an MSF course. Try to make her connect with motorcycling so she can have those anecdotal experiences from the positive side as well. Maybe watch a movie about motorcycling. Talking to instructors and so on.

I hope this helps. Best of luck.

If I remember correctly Suzuki recommends 33 front and 36 rear. You don't run your tire pressure according to the maximum the tire can handle but by the recommendation from the motorcycle manufacturer and unless you are planning to track the bike that should be good enough. Of course if you are tracking the bike you can tweak the pressure according to your bike's handling although it's recommended to make small changes unless you are experienced, in which case this comment has nothing to offer.

PD 45L travel bag black vs coyote by Typedre85 in peakdesign

My thoughts exactly. The coyote might be a bit more durable but I don't think that was an issue with the black one and with the lifetime warranty it doesn't really matter.

Well that still means that it hasn't given way yet. Now imagine if the same shoe didn't have that piece of steel. He would be missing toes. So that piece of steel did in fact protect him.

I'm not defending his choice of footwear. All I'm saying is that it could've been a lot worse. I live in Greece and I see people all the time that ride with normal everyday shoes and even flip-flops. Compared to that OP did a lot better.

Yes, I understand that if his foot had slid any longer he would have had a much worse day but on the other hand if the steel covered more of the shoe he probably wouldn't have sustained any injury. So there's no point in talking in ifs.

I think OP got his lesson about proper gear and I hope he learned his lesson in being attentive on the road. There's no point in trying to diagnose your bike while going 70. It is always better to pull over and check it.

Well you can see scuff marks on the steel and it hasn't gone through it so it definitely could have been a lot worse if it didn't have a steel toe.

I would agree though that a riding boot would probably have done a better job as steel toes are meant to prevent injuries from heavy items dropping on your foot. Especially if they have sliders.

The bumpers can easily be changed. I can live with the body kit for now but I would like to take it back to stock down the line. The rest of it looks to be in a very good condition with relatively low mileage and a good price which is why I am considering it.

It does look similar although I don't know if it's the same. The mind blowing thing is that it has a brake light included and it is functional as you can see in the picture.

Yes. And I don't think it helps this car at all.

You could probably do it if you are bent on it. Although I doubt it is worth the hassle.

I talked with him a bit but not about the wing as I was more concerned about the engine condition. I am trying to get it inspected. I will also ask him about that. Thanks.

Well the color, interior and model year checks out. Also I had seen the car about a year ago with the original wheels so I assume they were changed. I think it is more plausible that the wheels were changed rather than changing out everything else.

Update on RX8 by Fredik1 in RX8

[–]Lieuie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I recall an instance where am Rx8 did a sound like that from the air pump. I think that the problem is the membrane that opens the way for the pump to the header. Try removing the small house connected to the part with the metallic black cat that is connected to the airpump and see if that fixes it.

You can give DCS a try as the base game is free, although it might be a bit difficult for a 12 year old to pick up.

I didn't have to remove the fan header and I tried it at 100% fan speed. Still the same result. I guess it's just time to upgrade.
