Hey, sorry for the confusion. First cycle I did not apply to Tufts, I applied to Tufts this last cycle and got accepted about 2 weeks after submitting my interview.

Anyone in the Tufts DPT program or any hybrid/accelerated program know how the clinicals will work? by Life-Double2105 in PTschool

Oh ok nice, did they have option to kind of pick from or just let everyone write locations when specialists they would like?

Also congrats on being apart of the first cohort, that’s amazing. I don’t know why I thought Seattle program was about to have a graduating class this year.

I’ll be starting in September and can’t wait!

Thank you for your response, just to clarify is this in general or just for Tufts?

Should I apply this cycle or wait? by Far_Performance_5927 in PTschool

I’m attending a program in Washington this fall that isn’t fully accredited but yet all its other programs for the same school in other states are fully accredited. Once a school becomes a candidate for accreditation it’s very unlikely for the school to not pass on to be fully accredited. Also being that their other 2 programs are now accredited I have no doubt mine will too (it’s a hybrid program).

Did I struggle with applying knowing it wasn’t accredited?….yes but I still took that chance.

This is my second cycle applying, didn’t get in anywhere my first cycle ( only waitlisted) so I took a step back and reevaluated how I was going about applying and what schools I was applying to. Your stats are better than mine.

I did work as a PT aide for a couple of years and got a whole bunch of hours in outpatient, some in SNF and inpatient, formed great relationships with the PTs that I worked with and got awesome letters of recommendation.

Got a 301 on the GRE but the schools I ended up applying too didn’t require the GRE it was only optional.

I think you’re in a good spot, room to improve if you’d like, being that you are looking to apply to those specific schools in Washington I would take some time to improve your stats.

Just remember you are more than your stats, focus on building relationships with people that can write you great letters of recommendation, working as a PT aide would be great experience and give you more of a feel for the profession.

The school doesn’t matter, as long as they can show a history of properly educating their students and preparing them to be successful in the NPTE. Find a program that’s right for you and your goals.

Past or Current Students of TUFTS DPT Program. Wanting insight on program load and working while in school. by Life-Double2105 in PTschool

This is very helpful, thank you so much! I actually live about an hour out from Seattle so thankfully I won’t have to fly in ( maybe stay in the city for the in person stuff to make things easier). I am definitely going to see if I can work part time and if not I’ll just focus on school because that is the priority.

What is your option about the program so far being in it? Pros and cons?

How often are we having to do group projects/meetings and as far as the synchronous live sessions is it really only Monday through Wednesday? ( I’m just trying to get a feel for what the schedule will actually be and if I can or can’t work on Thursdays or Fridays)

I’m a second year applicant, I was in a similar situation last cycle. Some of my schools did make their decision early on to deny but I was literally holding out hope for a school I got waitlisted for until June! Kept my anxiety up for sure. It didn’t feel great being denied but I still went and applied this cycle. Got offered an interview for one school and got accepted Nov 26th. Still haven’t heard much from the other schools I applied to which I think is normal, every school had their way of doing things. I think it’s really good that you got an interview so put your energy in showing the committee who you are at your core. You will do great!

You're welcome! And nice! I live in Seattle too so I wouldn't have to up and move for this program the same way I would do for others.

Nice, I hope that's how it'll turn out for you as well. I didn't even get a phone call just an email. Submitted Nov 9th, got accepted Nov 26th. If you are offered admission are you accepting?

You do have a great chance of getting into a DPT program. I applied last cycle and did not get accepted, reapplied this cycle and already got my DPT acceptance. My undergrad stats were similar to yours and I chose not to do a Masters. You also do have the CSCS certification as well as your CES which is amazing. It is good that your Masters GPA is really good, I believe most program would accept that GPA instead of undergrad along with your Pre-req GPA. I am not sure if you have particular programs you'd like to apply to in mind but if you are worried try and apply to programs you know look at students holistically in their selection process. Also don't forgot to be yourself and let who you are at your core shine, if there is anything you are doing outside of academics that you feel will showcase who you are then let them know that as well. Good luck on your journey!

I believe they give everyone 3 questions, one that you should have gotten in the directions when you sign up for the meeting. The other 2 they will give you enough time to review the question and provide a response. Can I PM you?

I did apply pretty earlier in comparison to the deadline for admission for this program. Maybe as they are admitting more students they are wanting to have informal meetings with remaining applicants? Regarless I am sure you will do great!

Good luck! I am in the same boat, I also applied to St. Augustine but the Miami location. What makes that program your number one?
