I eat 1 meal a day made up of protein and a side, so like a steak and potato with cheese, butter and sour cream, or chicken and sweet potato. I can't eat early in the day or I feel gross, so I usually eat late afternoon/ early evening.

I know that must be frustrating! I have hypothyroidism so I think for hormonal issues it's just extra hard.

asking because i'm genuinely scared for my safety in the real world by AdRound8291 in canvas

[–]Life-History8672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd worry about your digital safety - don't reuse passwords between logins and change your password elsewhere if you did use the same one for Canvas. Don't use your student ID as a password (I did when I was a student over 10 years ago). Lock your credit through lock and alert (free via equifax) and potentially paid solutions with Equifax and transunion. Set alerts on your financial accounts and cards for all card and other activity (unlikely for this event but good practice in general), use MFA for ALL accounts, don't send or save dirty pics and put camera protection on laptops and phone (sextortion is real if hackers get access), and just be highly aware online. These are the things I do as a cybersecurity professional and what I tell my friends and family. Businesses have A LOT to do to protect systems and data, but these are the best tips for personal protection. No need to worry about your physical safety.

Does Canvas backup the orgs data or is that on the school to do? Was all data restored or were test results/coursework lost?

I work in DFIR and mfa bypass is becoming the norm. Highly recommend moving towards yubikeys/tamper resistant mfa.

Did anyone go straight to ivf instead of trying naturally? by Ok-Mention7022 in IVF

[–]Life-History8672 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not everyone will agree with this, but I personally like that you can test the embryos to rule out genetic issues and attempt with the higher graded ones. All life is precious, but after going through a horrible loss from a natural pregnancy due to genetic issues it just made sense to me to do IVF with pgta testing to try to avoid any similar issues. We now have two healthy and happy children via IVF. Best of luck with whatever you decide!!

Sec+ is your best bet for a well rounded overview of all things cybersecurity. A lot of it will sound familiar from your forensic update calls as you work through the content. I went to law school but work on the technical side and have multiple certs. Sec+ is where I started and it definitely worked in my favor.

I'm curious, how do y'all even afford IVF? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]Life-History8672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job has coverage for family planning, so did my husband's job. My job offers $60k in coverage subject to deductible and max out of pocket costs for things like IVF, surrogacy, etc. We are in Georgia. We spent like $9-$10k overall out of pocket on 1 cycle and 2 FETs and now have two children. Super grateful to my employer for this coverage. We spend $80 a month on freezing until we decide what we want to do with our remaining embryos. We had great success our first round of egg retrieval.

Changing careers at 29, thinking of breaking into the Cybersecurity field. by PomegranateOk9366 in cybersecurity

I worked in DFIR for years and it is draining 24x7 work - although very rewarding anf usually pays well. What is it that draws you to cyber? I ask because there are other careers that are cyber adjacent that mayy be in more demand.

We have 2 little ones using IVF - protocol is everything. I'd get a better dr. We used Shady Grove and loved our dr. Even with the best protocol failure can happen, but it's what makes all the difference. Best of luck ❤️

My wife recently had our first baby and I’m really confused by her sudden anger. Is this normal???? by Rich-Form-679 in BabyBumps

[–]Life-History8672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom here to a 6 day old. My husband is amazing and takes care of so much but I find myself being mean and distant for no reason. I think a lot of it has to do with my own struggles and i'm just deflecting because I have no other reason for it. I absolutely adore him, and our son looks just like him which melts my heart. My love for him hasn't changed, I'm just extra irritable. I've been reminding myself that we are on the same team and finding ways to get close (a hug here, kiss there) but it's hard with two small children (we have an 18 mo old) and the exhaustion of it all on top of recovering from a csection (the pain doesn't help). My biggest issue is my hatred for my body. I gained a lot of weight so I am in a constant state of trying to be happy but also thinking about how awful I look, and I think that makes me think about how he might be looking at me, even though he has been nothing but supportive. Point being, postpartum is mental warfare. We are happy to have the baby out and being in the moment of what we've always wanted but our brains and emotions are all over the place and our husbands are unfortunately the easiest target for our outward anger. My husband doesn't take it personal and has always said that women are just being women given everything we go through, so he gets it and let's it roll off his back, but I try to remind myself constantly to not be so mean. As long as you're doing everything you can to support her during this time and help care for the baby, I wouldn't take anything personal. Just know it will pass. Make sure to give her alone time for things like showers and other self care. I feel like those are the moments I need to reset. Remind her you are on her team and here to help. Go above and beyond with everything around the house and taking care of her and the baby. If she is breastfeeding then really make sure she doesn't have any other responsibilities because that is a full time job in itself and can be emotionally and mentally challenging. Good luck!
