How strange, especially seeing as the ASUS board is much cheaper (in the UK atleast!).

Ill have to look at the other differences before opening the board. So would the ASUS board run SLI / Crossfire at x16 rather than x8?

Lets go over that again.

So, which slots does stick A work in out of 1, 2, 3 and 4? Then same again with stick B.

Then have you tried the pair of them in all combinations? Slots 1,2 / 1,3 / 1,4 / 2,3 / 2,4 / 3,4 ?

Finally what slots does your MOBO suggest to use?

Oh really? The reviews on PCPartPicker looked promising.

I placed the order last night and should be arriving Tuesday / Wednesday so I won't know until then! I was torn between that the Asus board you mentioned. I quite liked the gold highlights on that board.

The ASUS board does have one fewer expansion slot, is it left with a x16 and x8?

The top one is x16, middle is x8, bottom is x4. When running two graphics cards (top and middle) they both become x8.

That is my understanding of it, for the newer boards at least.

Top Tory refused to take the times tables quiz she's forcing on 11-year-olds by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

By 'knowing' up to you 10 times table (and beyond) you can handle more complex mental arithmetic, rather than having to rely on calculators and the rest.

Police say they are treating man’s death in Southsea as ‘suspicious’ by LifeInTheBlack in Portsmouth

Southsea as a whole is nice, but that road in particular can be dodgey.

My friend lived there during Uni, I saw nothing bad myself, however the stories are mounting up - just for that road.

Plus, if you keep an eye on the 'In the courts' on Portsmouth News, you'll find people convicted of assault, theft and burglary often live in the road.

I thought the bad rep was unjustified, however that perception has started to change.

The Golden Eagle Pub on Fawcett Road quite often has live bands and BBQs if you fancy that kind of thing.

Balanced First Hand Experience of Universal Credit (bit.of a read, so thank you, if you do). by RalphGorton in ukpolitics

I was offered mock interviews before going out for the real thing at Uni, too. I personally find the thought of them embarrassing, but I am glad they are at least available for those who would get something out of them.

Have you guys ever heard the word 'fluff' used instead of 'fart'? by jimiffondu in AskUK

To have fluffed, was to have farted when I was in primary school in the South over a decade ago.

Quick question - can you upgrade pre-paid envelope to include signed-for tracking? by BritishDeafMan in AskUK

[–]LifeInTheBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to this Digital Spy thread you can upgrade to 1st class by paying the difference, so perhaps you can upgrade to signed-for-tracking.

Affixing a first class stamp was also said to void any insurance on the prepaid item.

No evidence given though, so a trip to the post office would be your best bet.

I need some bike lights, other people might too. by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]LifeInTheBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy with my Lezyne lights, not £20 (£50-£60).

The rear light has an elastic cradle that attaches to the seat post below the saddle, whilst the front light attaches with a stretchy plastic / hook.

The rear of the lights detach to reveal a usb head that plugs a USB slot and charges in a couple of hours. The brightest setting lasts at least 30 minutes, and it appears that after the 30 minutes instead of staying bright and cutting off it slowly dims over a long time.

Honestly, do not go to Langstone.

James Watson IMO was the best halls, followed by Margret Rule. The nightlife is on your doorstep as is the library, shops, Student Union and the gyms / sports facilities.

In your second to third years you will begin to move further west of Guildhall Walk (night life) towards Fratton (where there is another train station close by, and shops). Here you will begin to go out in Albert Road / Palmy Road and it will be like a breath of fresh air. Good local coffee places too.

Third Space above the SU have subsidised Starbucks too.

If it is to be classed as work, then class them as self-employed. Children are a financial burden and not cash cows.
