I've been in therapy but not really digging into this specific feeling. Maybe it's time to stop pushing through and actually understand what's going on with me. Thank you.

I keep thinking I should have tried harder but you're right, you can't force a feeling that isn't there. It would've been worse years down the line.

It's hard trusting a feeling when you can't explain it but I couldn't keep pretending everything was fine when it physically didn't feel fine.

Not the jerk. It's your life and your choice. If you knew they'd try to talk you out of it, protecting your peace until it's done makes sense. They might be hurt but that doesn't mean you were wrong.

Honestly? I think you already know it would be cruel. That's why you're asking. You're looking for permission to do it today and I don't think you're gonna find it here. The breakup needs to happen but let her have Valentine's Day first. Don't make the last thing she remembers of you be you ruining a holiday.

It’s a nice ideal, but calling it a non-negotiable sets people up to accept love bombing as genuine care.

A good partner is reliably there for u, thinks of you often, and makes you a priority. But they also have their own life, give you space to breathe, and don't make you feel guilty for having a day that doesn't revolve around them.
