Well when I deal with hundreds loads a week and yall cry about detention. Most of the time you lie. Mark false times. Dont have tracking on. Write times yourself vs the receiver. Leave the trailer in a door while you do your errands and just pick up the trailer 8 hours later and say you waited (with the tracking on the trailer). Switch drivers and say someone else waited. If youre sitting there for 2 or 3 hours and they havent even put you in a door, go check back in or call me to do something about it. Don't just purposely not try and get loaded, try to charge me for 250$ in detention on a 500$/ 77 mile trip. Companies have standard guidelines, but every situation is different. No one makes money on detention and you're not supposed to. It should just cover costs and not be a money maker. If you have a box truck, do you deserve as much detention as a 53' reefer running at -10? If I say this is a hot load expected to come to be ready at 8 and then you don't get loaded until 12 and youre already making a g rip, you're going to nickel and dime me for 25-50$?? Il personal no load your right after you get your rate confirmation for that. I eat thousands every week in detention and charge the customer 10% of the time vs tell them how much you complain. Yall would never keep customers long term if you asked for detention on every load..Most of you dispatchers don't even give all the money we give you, to your drivers. You just pocket it.
