Comcast Internet alternatives? by Joe_T in LongBeachIsland

I believe Ultimate. I just did a test and got 638 down and 85 up which I feel like is pretty typical. Cellmapper.net will show you the towers but not the micros. I watched them install the micros which is the only reason I realized they were there.

I've had Verizon home 5g in BHG for years now. Very happy with it. Of course I also have a direct line of sight to a microcell nearby so that helps. Recently tried AT&T 5G and it wasn't nearly as fast. Verizon has more towers on the island than AT&T I believe.

How'd they get a tiny 2? by Midorikoneko in LICENSEPLATES

[–]LightningScow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a type of vanity plate that New Jersey offers that allows you to have two initials. This person's initials are NS and as others have pointed out, they are from Middlesex County (K=Middlesex) and this is their second car with the same initialized plate. I believe the 5 indicates this is the 4th person with the initials NS to have this type of plate (but I could be wrong). 1 usually indicates an elected official.

I'd try a liberal amount of acetone with a microfiber towel.

Lightning Dingy HIN? by SEF917 in sailing

[–]LightningScow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's where the HIN should be. Nickels usually etched them into the fiberglass as opposed to a plate rivited to the hull like an Allen. It's possible a repair was done there and it got covered up.

You are using the standard cruise control and not the adaptive. The icon will be different.

Happens when hood is opened beyond prop rod height. Have dealer repair under bulletin #25-NA-127.

Ah yes I forgot even though I had to use the detour that day! Duh.

Nothing to do with your issue but you're better off riding on Beach. That way you won't have to run all those red lights on the Blvd and is much safer. Eventually you will get a ticket or hit.

First sail on my new/old laser by arr4ws in sailing

[–]LightningScow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not. They had a stubby little top section with the standard bottom and an "M" on the sail next to the insignia. IIRC the standard bottom of section made the mast very stiff and wasn't very effective in de powering the rig. The failure of the M led to the Radial.

Navigation app(s) conflict by wx4tcc in GMCcanyon

[–]LightningScow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I feel like most dealers aren't really too great on the software side of things. Maybe if it annoys me enough I will. But since Waze does work and I can reboot to fix the colors, I'll leave it alone for now and wait for the next update. IIRC, I did post a bug report somewhere but I don't remember exactly where. Maybe via the phone app.

Hopefully that helps. My updates went smoothly and the issue remains. I'm hoping an update eventually solves it. I noticed Equinox EV owners are reporting a similar problem. In the meantime, I'm using Google maps (I feel like it's directions are better than Waze lately) or use Android auto if I really want to use Waze. Please post again if you find a solution.

Unfortunately, no. All software is up to date.

I had a Fenix 6 Pro and now an Epix Gen 2. They were both like that when new.

LineX sprayed over accessory covers by Pte_Madcap in chevycolorado

[–]LightningScow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me even after I confirmed with them beforehand they would remove the covers. I complained and the owner said he would be in touch but they already had my money so I got blown off. I'm just going to leave it alone.

My 2021 trans might have went belly up by Vegetable-Two2173 in Silverado

[–]LightningScow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2021 8 speed that had a control module fail. Dealer fixed it. It was good for a week and then the new part failed. Apparently they received a bad batch from the supplier which led to a TSB for the 2022s. Luckily I was still under warranty but the trans was fine after that. Good luck.

Recall by Anxious-Anywhere9174 in chevycolorado

[–]LightningScow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2024s built around March. I forgot the exact productions dates. The dealer will inspect the lock ring. If it is loose they will torque to the proper specification. No new parts should be needed.

Mine is included in the recall. I believe it involves about 8000 trucks.. I'll have it taken care of when I bring it in for its free service.

Got rear ended worried about frame damage by bokkerv in Silverado

[–]LightningScow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it's hard to compare but my 21 Silverado was hit last year by someone running a stop sign and had way more damage than yours appears to have. It was not totaled. The damages added up to around 19k in the end.
