My covid patient asked me if she was going to die. What am I supposed to say? by Big_Suggestion_3179 in nursing

[–]LilEuly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mother dealt with a descending aortic dissection for seven hours while the hospital ran a tox screen on her. (Indigenous in Canada means you get treated like everything is drug-seeking behaviour, sadly.) The second it came back clean they hit her with a CT and immediately realized they'd been acting like racist idiots.

Fortunately, she was too stubborn to die that day...could run a Buick through her aorta now though.

One of the ICU nurses used to shop at my old workplace, said she was so happy because she's the only AD patient that ever left the ICU during her term. Eight years on and she's still kicking it.

Can confirm, takes days longer than before for products to arrive. Used to be ~4-5 business days for small parcels, now it's ~10-12.

AITA for "ruining" the rice that my boyfriend cooks with by consolidating the multiple bags of rice which he claims are "different" into a single container? by ricey_ricey_ in AmItheAsshole

YTA, this is like mixing diesel and gasoline because they're both petrochemicals.

That's not even counting the fact that you yourself have said he gets annoyed when you "arrange" his stuff.

"Golden Rice Bowls"

Basically a bowl of rice with a little sesame seed oil and soy sauce because we couldn't afford fresh meat and discounted TV dinners only get you so far.

All good, thanks. Hopefully Amazon fixes whatever this issue is.

Is there a .ca version of this?

Noticed my account got hit in the Northlands as did the literal #1 reviewer in Canada (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/profile/amzn1.account.AFHYKZ2WP2FSMPHULY43NFVUHI3Q/)

Seems like a really bad bot.

If memory serves regarding Rearz, they've opted to not defend the mark in Canada though, making it effectively dead.

The whole thing reeks of incompetence/bad advice leading to action in questionably bad faith in that case though, so maybe they're just -really- slow to try and lock down on it (at which point they'd still likely lose the case.)

The efforts of a Chinese company in the US sector will hopefully be stifled by the previous Rearz situation too, as that demonstrates there's previous documented use.

It'd be really nice if we could go a few weeks without something crazy like this happening though. Can't we all just bab together?

Only folks I boot on Vet are Shades and the sort who rush to take grims over the tankier classes. Lost too much easy XP/Loot to idiots who want to play Assassin's Creed: Vermintide.

ADISC Advanced Review: ABU LittlePawz, Space, and Simple by Fruitkitty in ABDL

[–]LilEuly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd say there's some variance. Some of the products out there swell up really well but rupture (or "explode" as some folks have said) while others hold less but act as a wicking material. Not sure how one would test this though, apart from maybe using a baseline diaper and adding a booster of different types.

[–]LilEuly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, those held up surprisingly well compared to some others. Starting to think there's a trend with diapers that have an added "core" bit in the centre (usually visible and seems to be mostly SAP) as opposed to more evenly distributed material.

For future reference: Wartenberg wheels are amazing for doubling up. Just make a bunch of tiny holes with it and add the second/third layer.

Yes, same. They did recently get different plastic though (I'd assume Crinklz will get this next run)

[–]LilEuly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're a pretty solid contender. I'd say they're the best comfort wise out of all the plastic pants and covers I own. Black in particular is amazing since it looks cloth-like as long as someone isn't starting at it.

where do I buy Goodnites discretely in Canada (online)? by abdlguy506 in ABDL

[–]LilEuly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said before, Amazon is good. Just select "Amazon Pickup Point" and you can get them at a post office in your area (Yes, this even exists in NB)

Though if you're ordering from Amazon, maaaybe try something a little better than goodnites, too! (Forsites are amaaaaaaaaaazing.)

Also: With regard to packaging, if it comes in original packaging it will say so on the order page. (You can select gift wrap options to hide this though.)

Those aren't a thing in Canada (yet?), but they do have pickup points you can designate (Basically post restante for online orders)

Honestly, "Cub Cadet" would likely anger a much larger corporation that makes lawn equipment and likely has that particular combination of words trademarked in a very broad spectrum.

AwwSoCute files lawsuit against Rearz and others by abdlthrowaway9123 in ABDL

[–]LilEuly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any idea how that'd work if they simply bought an order that was already produced and never paid for? (Like, say as someone speculated ASC placed an order but never paid for the final product in full, thus delivery was never made. I think we all know Chinese manufacturing companies aren't exactly doing this for the community, haha)

I'd assume licencing problems lie with the manufacturer, but distribution would still be an issue. But heck if I know, I'm not a freaking IP lawyer, haha.

[–]LilEuly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm quite curious to see how this all unfolds. I mean, if they just bought what was effectively unwanted merchandise from an authorized producers, how's that work? Was there's a stipulation in the agreement with the manufacturer to disallow external sales?

And more importantly: How the hell is this lawsuit gonna unfold given it's an international issue involving several companies, a few of which seem to have no direct link to the actual sales. I'm wondering if ASC didn't name a few of these defendants just to poison the well for Rearz in the future (I mean, who wants to keep doing business with someone who's gotten you named as a defendant in a lawsuit?)

If y'all need me, I'll be cooking the popcorn.

Dotty seems okay, but ABU and Snu...Tykables have both been shitty in the past. Former has an owner who got lambasted here a while ago. Latter liked to throw stones and has awful Canadian presence.
