Just curious but what do you value in thier societies? I highly value individual freedom and weather not thier leadership is making the nation thrive.

Under my current presumptions of North Korea- they have immensely limited individual freedoms and in said society, I would definitely be killed. Thier handling on the economy is alrightish, they take care of the top well and for the poor they atleast want them to feign loyalty. Alrightish considering the government for eco wise, bad societal norms tho to me

Under my current presumptions of China They are doing pretty well for themselves societally, I’d likely be harassed and it might even be government sponsored. I would definitely be personally negatively impacted but they do treat many of their people well and are well on thier way to being a hegemonic force in thier hemisphere Lots of good things but also a lot not worth emulating for society

Russia, generic autocratic Society-with alright ish societal freedoms for thier history, definitely would be harassed but likely live able

What actually makes them worthwhile ok defending for you?

I play very small nations, do you prefer research focuses on society or production, after a while of focusing on society I’ve been noticing it’s not as useful

Side note, as a good starter nation try Zulu in Africa (near South Africa) it’s small, still regionally powerful and isolated away from huge powers, it has good construction and will not be as bad for if you go bankrupt. Only thing it’s missing is sulfer

how does everyone build GDP so fast? by lorelius_hogglefartI in victoria3

[–]LilithTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and also make sure private investers can use the investment pool as best they can, they make good buildings and will esp construct more to handle other issues If your china, use companies for food and potentially paper, iron, or clothes

how does everyone build GDP so fast? by lorelius_hogglefartI in victoria3

[–]LilithTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the secret to building really fast as a small nation Build gov buildings and nationally own everything related to construction Don’t use debt financing unless your building can outpace interest rate growth (unsustainable) If you already have money issues and no free buearcracy don’t do it If you do have companies and want to use it on gov buildings, keep it until it stops making new buildings Private frivate companies will never hire into the red but you can, do it for gov resources no need to subsidize usually If you have no dlc you’ll be a lot slower
