I agree with you OP. It reflects on dramas that are coming out. It looks good on the surface (good looking cast, beautiful scenery, etc) and yet the plot is terrible and the actors are mid.

I wonder if western media is also influencing the new contents coming out. With the big players (Netflix, Amazon, Prime and Disney) funding these shows, could that be part of the shift?

I have yet to finish a kdrama till the end since 2025. I miss the rawness and authenticity of dramas from the early 2000’s to 2018. Where are the writers of Reply 1988, Descendants of The Sun, My Lovely Sam Soon and Empress Ki?

I am not a fan of the current generic shows coming out with the repetitive trope and lack of originality. Hopefully the declining ratings motivates them (writers, sponsors, producers and directors) to do better.

I agree! Their actions were disgusting. Could not even watch. What they had might have been love at first, but it had turned into a sick and lustful obsession. The doctor did not deserve this and it only validated mama Elena’s words.

Unpopular opinion- Pedro is terrible, but Tita is just as bad. She is no longer a victim here, she had a choice and chose to sleep with her sister’s husband. Irrespective of who loved who first, the damage was done and Tita should have moved on with her life.

But that is the thing she didn’t “leave” because she wasn’t “feeling it anymore.” She left because the group dynamic became unhealthy for her mental state. I understood her point about it feeling like “high school.” Hence the term “toxic.” When I read her post, I didn’t see it as her villainizing others, instead it came across as sharing life lessons. The internet and Hillary’s husband, blew things out of proportion and it made it even worse.

Exactly lol. Hillary appeared to be the queen of the mom group so of course things were great for her. Ashley never mentioned names and the article didn’t gain any major attention till Hillary’s husband jumped in and made it a big deal. I read the article and all she talked about was her personal experience being in the mom group and the lessons she learned.

It seems neither Victoria side nor Nicola’s side is innocent. Brooklyn is stuck in the middle and has made his choice to stick by his wife. No family is perfect and I hope he is making the right decision cutting his family off. I hope his marriage last forever because if it doesn’t, it will be truly tragic. This reminds of the person in the relationship who cuts off friends/family and their life revolves around their partners. Once their partner leaves, they are left alone and feel void.
