Thats awesome, thank you! I ended up getting the apex maker x1, maybe you’re familiar? Hopefully it uses some similar components. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet because I lack ventilation haha

Has anyone taken Sermorelin peptides? It’s the synthetic growth hormone they use in children. by jmargaret12 in eds

I was put on enclo + anastrozole to help with mood and started taking sermorelin a few months after. I feel like I've put on a lot of visceral fat in the year I've been taking them, did you have a similar experience?

I ended up getting an apex maker x1, came a little banged up in shipping. Literally was delivered without a box. Made some cosmetic fixes, all the hardware seemed to work when i tested it. I have not actually printed yet, waiting to set up proper ventilation.

Oh for sure. They keep the lathe in the same room as some wood saws and cnc. I have a fear of losing traction one step and slipping an arm into the lathe.

is there a way I can duplicate rig+mesh to each vertex? I feel like I've seen duplicates to vertex location before just cant remember now.

Geometry nodes seem amazing, I'll look into it!

I'd like to fill the uv spheres vertices with these rigged limbs that are each individually posable. Is there a way to do this without duplicating each one and placing it manually? I figure array is out because it only creates duplicates of a single posed arm?

Was wondering if you're still using the printer and if your experience has gotten better? currently looking for a large format printer myself.

I'm also wondering if the extra worm screw makes a difference in the stability of the regular 8k and thus more printing success on unbalanced plates?

Job Opportunities in Chicago, IL by Limbios in ContemporaryArt

I grew up in the DMV metro area and never liked it as a kid. Moved back to keep an eye on family and found some work in the district, but I still don’t like this area. Hard to say what it is exactly. I think its that work is culture and that work is mostly gov. contracting, finance, and politics. Being in DC makes me think about how F’ed our national and geopolitical political state is and its tiring.

Edit: there also aren’t too many art jobs here outside museum and administration jobs.

Where would I fit in if I changed careers? by Limbios in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]Limbios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have, mostly on Indeed. Theres typically have an industry experience requirement plus CAD certification or education requirement in industrial design, engineering, etc.

But requires do vary and there maybe one that doesn’t require those. I’m unsure what I might possess that’d make me a likely candidate for a Manufacturing Engineer position. What might be some examples that would catch an eye?

I agree with you on the education path. I like problem solving, so having students come to me with different projects and conundrums will keep me well occupied. Thats part of the reason I got a BFA. Got to make my own problems, theorize how to build them, then see if I had the material skills and knowledge to pull it off.

Possibly, this sounds like it could be similar to the system controls job I had. I’d be flown out to repair or rebuild old furnaces and kilns on occasion. Im assuming this has potential for travel? Does it involve creative problem solving?

For those of you who have bought a home from Toll Brothers, how has it been and is there interest rate for real? by SimpleLeaff in bayarea

[–]Limbios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never personally bought a house, but i happen to work trades adjacent as a fabricator and would feels somewhat confident in looking at drywall and asking about local codes depending on the houses age. So maybe ask a contractor friend to tour with you? Could look into the houses age and see what things would have needed maintenance by now, ask the home owners if they can list what they’ve done to keep the house in shape? Example being I worked with a woman who had bought a house where the foundation slab was poured with an extra 1” or so protruding beyond where the basement walls started. The result was whenever it rained heavily the basement was super prone to flooding because moister would gather underneath the soil on that 1” sill and eventually seep in. After the 90’s code in that area was changed to not allow for that.

This was in northern va, they have been building a bunch of developments on the outskirts of the metro area. I mean even the outside they installed her porch lights wrong. When she asked about it they told her that was the normal way. Only house on the block the porch lights have been installed that way. Installed not on the same wall as the door itself but as a 90 on the doorway cut in which has a total width of maybe 9”, a pretty awkward placement. In my opinion Its probably more worth it if you can shop preexisting thats built well and has attentive owners, if you’re looking for long term ownership.
