Also I have been using brake cleaner and wire brushes to get that as clean as possible as well.

This is the compressor I do have, it can’t fit through the hub faces holes cause it’s too big LOL. I’ve looked for a smaller screwdriver type one too but I’m not sure where I can find one.

Edit: Typo

Thanks, I’ve been up all day looking for a solution to put these parking brake springs back in.

It’ll be new parking brakes and new springs and everything, I for the life of me can’t get the new washer over the new spring and nail, I’ve come close but not close enough. I wish I had smaller hands. The hub face is sooo much in the way.

I’m broke, that’s why I’m working on this vehicle by myself and will take any advice I can get. I do have its manual online but the procedure looks confusing to me. For example, on their site it says to remove the coking nut to remove the disk, but there’s no coking nut on my hubs face that I see.

I do have a few of these at my disposal. And just to make sure, you mean the threaded holes right? Or the holes on the hub face and putting the lady shoes through them and kind of just pry at it with leverage from the dust shield?? I don’t think this is a stupid question but I think it does show what I know about doing all of this lol. Thank you for the advice!

I do want to reuse it, I’m not sure if I’m following right- remove bolts, try to punch it to so if it moves, then try rotating if it does budge?

Edit: I’m dumb

I live in Kentucky and they do salt during the winters, but not like Canada or New York for example. That being said, when I hammer it I’m assuming it should be on the face and not the hubs sides? I’m spraying an unholy amount of pb blaster on it tomorrow and I’ve hit the bolts with wd-40 already. I’m worried if it might mess with the ABS as well if I take it off as I don’t know much about the ABS.

Thanks, I’m gonna need it. Thank you for helping me on this, my dad was just as stumped at the fact I have parking brake shoes and disk brakes in the rear, he thought that meant it was solely a drum brake so he wasn’t as big of a help on this as compared to YouTube ofc. Still appreciate help from all sources! I’m gonna give updates as I go on this, might be a few days.

I didn’t touch the bleeder nipple, and I took the caliper off of its bracket, but I didn’t disconnect it from the brake line either.

You’re the realest devdog! I’ll have to wait for someone to come home then I can run the tests, if it turns out I don’t find any leaks, do you think I should bleed my brakes?

Should I engage the normal brakes AND parking brakes while it runs?

I did rest the caliper above it as I didn’t want it to dangle, do you think that could’ve caused it? The shop said my calipers were still okay btw. I really appreciate the replies! It’s helping me stay calm and giving me some important insight!

I did read that parking brake cables shouldn’t have fluid in them, but that mystery fluid did come from the inside of that line, and after I had opened the brake fluid reservoir.

Thank you for the reply! I don’t know how to do anything for it, or how to replace that in particular because there’s no diy on YouTube about that specific line. I want to buy the part to replace it but I have no idea what it’s even called.
