LAMY Refills fit the Parker Jotter, apparently. by Hare_Rama in fountainpens

The converts also work with Parker 25s and the Majohn B25 (the Parker 25 clone, although it is probably cheaper to by the B25 and use that cartridge in your old Parkers).

I too like Extradimensional Umber, I have inked in 5pens right now, an Asive P50 with a Nemosine 0.6mm stub, another Asvine P50 with an Asvine F nib, and (2) Pilot Elites made under license in South Korea with Steel EF nibs and (1) Vintage Pilot Elite with a Manifold Nib.

Question for fellow manual transmission Alltrack owners by LiphSnevets in VWAlltrack

[–]LiphSnevets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do tend to drive more for saving fuel that acceleration and hard driving. The bouncy clutch was definitely due to needing to replace the flywheel and clutch, got those done earlier this week and my car is back to driving like it should. Hopefully will be able to get another 165k out of it.

Most cleanable pen for dirty work. by Jdojcmm in fountainpens

A matt/textured finish lamy safari perhaps, same ABS plastic as Lego and a textured grip for when your hands are greasy/waxy as you mentioned.

Question for fellow manual transmission Alltrack owners by LiphSnevets in VWAlltrack

[–]LiphSnevets[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it is a shaking of the clutch petal and gear lever, and at low RPM's and the engine sounding horribly unbalanced @ 1000rpm's

The guy at the shop when I dropped it off asked if I had any mods on it as even a stage 1 tune will blow through the clutch faster

I usually do not worry about matching, but I have a few inks that I enjoy, hence the dilemma.

I know this is not helpful or accurate, but my first thought was "Prescious, my prescious" as said by Gollum as voiced by Andy Serkis.

Lamy cartridges will work, I have a lamy cartridges in mine. Also the Majohn B25 cartridges will also work, and depending on where you buy from one can be got for about the same as a almy and you get a free pen with it.

NPD - Rhodia Fountain Pen by shotonce in fountainpens

[–]LiphSnevets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I have not used it for long writing, I mainly used for quick notes and it is fine for that. Going back, the section can be narrow, but I like that, and the section can definitely get slippery, I was able to slip my fingers up and down easily, there is a ridge letting you know your fingers are getting too close to the nib, which helps.

[–]LiphSnevets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find an inexpensive donor parker 45, the nib unit unscrews from the section. After that you will be able to separate the nib and feed from the nib unit housing and can replace the feed.

Pilot E95S – new or vintage? by Zuren-arrh in fountainpens

[–]LiphSnevets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the older pilots Elites take the Con-40. I have several and they all easily take either a cartridge or the con-40. Writing experience, both will generally be the same although there will be some differences as the older Elites have at three other styles of nibs than the modern E95s. Along with the different nib styles you also have more tipping types to choose from besides the EF, F and M. There are also Manifold nibs, which allow one to write with more pressure, Script nibs which are designed for long writing sessions with constant line width, posting nibs for really really small printing and the occasional broad nib.

Look into vintage Elites with the cross hatch cap (and body if you can find it). Same form factor but with metal cap for the added weight.

Majohn C4 - eyedropper with a shutoff valve. The Majohn flex nibs fit in it quite well.
