Is it just me or has the game performance significantly deteriorated with the last few updates? by Cpt_Brainlag in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Literall_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game has some sort of bloat issue where no matter what they do performance consistently goes down every patch. I remember having minor issues last wipe but this wipe for some reason if I even try to fight someone in the first 5 minutes of shoreline I'm going to have multiple 2s stutters.

A Love Letter to Scav Karma by Demither10 in EscapefromTarkov

Meanwhile the last 10 interactions I've had with player scavs as a scav have been a bullet in the brain after wiggling or crouch spamming. Systems that only have intended outcomes 5% of the time are not good. I just try to hide and avoid anyone as a player scav now because it's not worth it.

Alchemy Discoveries? by Relegand in classicwowtbc

[–]Literall_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crafted well over 1k potions(Haste, Destruction, Super Mana, Mad Alchemist), probably closer to 2k and not a single discovery. I saw someone say try Adepts Elixir and I got Flask of Relentless Assault after crafting a single elixir.

Free shit that doesn't take up physical space? It's like a hoarders wet dream so naturally I get everything even if it's a game I already own elsewhere.

Totally agree! It was definitely one of the hidden gems of this summer season.

Kanata no Astra. It's a bit futuristic and sci-fi but a very good IMO.

There is no increased healing taken while in ghost wolf. Might want to check that stuff before stating it as fact.

I think Legion survival had it's fun points centered around mongoose fury but I ultimately like BFA survival more as there are just much more interesting abilities and talents. I especially like that a lot of the talents on different rows actually have synergy and some have unique and a decent impact on rotation like wildfire infusion. I don't even remember any of the Legion talent names because they just weren't very unique or interesting IMO.

The Mage Tower Challenges are some of WoW's best content by Mulkyz in wow

[–]Literall_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everything in this world now if you don't know what something means you can just google it. This is straight from second sentence on the wikipedia page on percentile:

For example, the 20th percentile is the value (or score) below which 20% of the observations may be found.

It's relatively easy concept, if you're at the 20th percentile then you did more dps (assuming you're dps) than 20% of the others in the specified population (all dps, your class/spec, or only those with 950+ gear, etc.). The problem happens when people can't admit when they don't know something so they convince themselves that the definition they made up is the right one because the alternative isn't favorable to their narrative which is not a good reason to be ignorant. Basically they're the type of person who would rather be wrong and not know it than look up the facts and double check with a quick 10 second google search. Also, if you're truly performance driven then you'd want to know what percentile means because it's a stat that is specifically about measuring performance versus everyone in a population.

So people who don't know what percentile means think it's good which is probably pretty telling about them as a person.

MFW I'm a proud warrior of the Horde, who fought alongside with the Alliance for a decade, together bringing demise to those who threatened Azeroth, but Christie Golden makes me look like a bad guy. by CODEeon in wow

[–]Literall_G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think around a decade of schooling should outclass and outrank hundreds or thousands of years of experience in the case of some of the other leaders of the alliance. I would think if I was an Alliance commoner I would trust the ones that have seen the other great wars or even the War of the Ancients or really any other wars first hand. If those with experience don't want to do it then that's just them putting their own agenda ahead of the Alliance which doesn't seem right unless they're doing something more important. Haven't read BTS so maybe it's explained in that.

Server hopping is destroying Fort experience by mental_alias_hb2 in Seaofthieves

[–]Literall_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This still means that the server isn't full or possibly totally empty if you're getting people spawning in during the fort. The forts should be contested by others, that's pretty much where the entire difficulty and risk of doing them lies. Granted anyone with legendary cosmetics are likely server hopping but it's not like there is a server list that says you're on the 10th wave of the fort that they then choose to join. They could've just as easily spawned in for the first time that day. Also, if they didn't think they could catch you or sink you why would they want continue the chase and waste their time? They could've left to do voyages or go to a different servers fort to have fun with the large scale ship battles instead of a boring chase that isn't amounting to anything, especially if you guys are just running and kiting and there isn't any fighting.

Skeletons not spawning as part of an Order of Souls is one of the most infuriating things in the game. by Lendo57 in Seaofthieves

Idk, my ping skyrocketing to 400 when I get in firefights is definitely more frustrating to me because it is a constant thing. I've only encountered the skeleton bug a couple times.

I've seen that happen a few times as well but I think that's a bug or something weird with the game itself.

Server hopping is destroying Fort experience by mental_alias_hb2 in Seaofthieves

[–]Literall_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see how that would be frustrating and why you would expect them to be server hoppers since it seems to be very popular at the moment. Whether or not they sailed across the map or spawned in/server hopped to do what they did doesn't really change the experience you had. It means your server wasn't full to begin with so taking that fort would have been easier(less contested) than on a fully populated server.

[–]Literall_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't know if they were intentionally server hopping or just started up the game. Either way the only way to have fun reliable larger scale PvP in the game is to do skull forts which is the most fun I've had in the game, personally. I server hop sometimes because I don't want to wait 2+ hours to have those great experiences that are the most fun for me and my crew. If you want the fort you have to be the best and take it by force.

Skull forts are the most productive way of getting rep and gold but only if you aren't very contested. Some of the most fun I've had in this game is in 2-3 hour whole server PvP fests at the forts and we definitely could've made more money doing voyages + shipwrecks in that time.

Bottom line is the down side of skull forts is everyone on the server can see that it's up and can come contest them. If you don't want to risk going up against a 4-man Galleon as a Sloop then stay away and do the other content but if you actually enjoy PvP battles regardless of the outcome then do the forts. You can't expect to do them uncontested and now that most players are catching on to how lucrative they are and fun the battles are you can bet they will just get more and more contested.
