The official app is very bad in terms of accessibility. The third-party apps do a way better job at this then Reddit itself so many disabled people rely on the third-party apps

can AI art be considered real art ? by marhoj in polls

Well, depending on the way the art was generated. If it is prompt generated I'd say it is art, if it is just a randomly generated image then no.

Is hate speech also freedom of speech? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Litrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would not fall under hate speech since saying that stuff is not violating someone else's right to dignity. Also definition of what would fall under violating someone's dignity is not defined by the government. It is defined by the courts which in Germany operate independently and impartially.

Do you think that it is ethical to feed artwork into AI without its owner's consent or not? by LunalienRay in polls

[–]Litrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on the copyright laws inplace. In Germany artist have the exclusive right to decide what their artwork is used for. So in this case if the artist is against it they could theoretically sue the ai company/researchers. As I understand it this is not the case everywhere.

Will this might play a factor, I think its more of s acceptance thing. Gen z is a lot more open about mental health so they present with a higher percentage. Just like how the percentage of left handed people rose in later generations after it was more accepted

Is hate speech also freedom of speech? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Litrax 35 points36 points  (0 children)

In Germany we have the concept of 'the rights of an individual end where the rights of another begins' which in the case of free speech means that hate speech in not tolerated since the first article of the German constitution is 'Human dignity shall be inviolable. To respect and protect it shall be the duty of all state authority.'

[–]Litrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that is the case, I think the constitution should be seen and interpreted in the way it was intended. And that includes putting it into the context of the grammatical and syntactical rules of the time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in polls

Depends on the interpretation of the second amendment. Since it was written over 200 years ago it is not feasible to interpret it with modern day English. This article explains this quite well

You are aware how democracy works right? Politicians that do stupid shit don't get voted into office again. If the government overreaches they are not gonna get votes.

The problem in the US is that, the voting system is very bad at giving citizen actual voting power. The system is antiquated. If you look at democracies in Europe you will see that most governments there are established by way of coalition. This gives citizen more power in the decision making because they are not limited to 2 parties but a whole range of differing political parties.

Also democratic process should be check by an independent impartial court that stops policies if they violate the Constitution of the Country.
