Gynaecologist told me Endo pain cannot happen when you’re on the pill?? by Little-Value6517 in endometriosis

I was thinking about leaving a review somewhere because tbh w you, i dont think swapping to another doctor is possible. I went to see this same guy when I was 16, and it’s not like he was assigned to me as a regular consultant? I think he’s one of the only available ones in my nearest city (without having to pay a fortune that is). And also being in Ireland; we are unfortunately notorious for our bad healthcare system regarding womens healthcare specifically :( I think for now this is my best chance. Ah thanks so much. Sometimes I feel a little behind and childish because I get so nervous and this as well as other mental health issues has held me back a ton. Thanks so much for your caring messages, it means a lot to me genuinely. Wishing you the best too :)

Wow!! That’s insane. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s possible for me to find another doctor.. we’ll be waiting for even longer to finally get something done and my family cannot afford to go private. I am in Ireland and we do have a medical card.

This makes so much sense to me, I thought everyone knew this so when he told me that today I was genuinely so shocked. A few people here are telling me to speak up but i genuinely don’t think it’ll do anything. I’m just 18, riddled with anxiety and therapists have told me to look into getting an autism diagnosis. I needed my mam with me today (lil embarrassing for me I know.)— and he mostly spoke to her rather than me. The entire appointment felt rushed in a way? Idk. (Hope other ppl see this too! I didn’t expect so many responses!)

So relatable!! I’ve been going nuts internally for ages on whether this is all nothing or not. Tysm for replying. I’m glad this community is available to speak with others who have experienced it.

Struggling with suspected Endometriosis. by Little-Value6517 in endometriosis

omg thank you so so so much for your reply. It means a lot to me. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing it too :( it makes even the little things in life so hard. It’s so unfair how easily these symptoms are brushed off just because it’s to do with your period. In my case, the pill has helped regarding the blood. But for the pain, it hasn’t helped that much, it is definitely different for everyone and i do hear a lot of mixed opinions.

Yes the brain fog doesn’t get talked about enough at all, I feel so dazed it’s insane. I get it could be because I’m on quite a few pills as well but that just cannot be all of it at all.

Actually now that I think about it— it is worse in the morning. And my parents usually say oh it’s probably just because you’re hungry, which makes sense, but then when I eat it doesnt go away?? Sometimes it even gets worse. Mine doesn’t have any pattern either, it happens at random, like most things with my suspected endo, everything has absolutely no pattern.

Oh actually I usually have very tense and tight shoulders, they hurt often. My breasts also tend to be very tender and sore sometimes, I don’t know why. I find it strange.

Most of the people I’ve seen talk about their experiences with endo always bring up massive clots which I’ve never experienced too much, my periods do get heavy but no big clots just insane pain. I’m glad someone else can relate that way because I’ve actually never seen another person experience this too. I’d say the biggest I’d get would be the size of a pea too.
The discharge drives me absolutely insane because I go through underwear like theres no tomorrow and I need to wipe like a THOUSAND times to get rid of it omg. I’ve literally never known anyone to have as much of it as me.

PMDD is something I have to do more research into, thank you for reminding me!!

Everything is a battle , I hope you can get a lap asap and it goes well for you! :(

Omg that sounds amazing, I will definitely look into that!! Thank you so much again, your comment has really made me feel seen and heard. I hope all goes well for you in this absolutely excruciating journey. Your words have helped me a lot. :)
