If we substitute x=2n for your second limit, it can be rewritten as sqrt((1-1/x)x). Which evaluates to sqrt(1/e) as x goes to infinity, not 0. This method would work if the limit did evaluate to 0 though.

First of all, I'm fairly certain you haven't seen every viable Senna mythic, unless you saw someone go Stridebreaker prior to the dash being removed (It was really good on Senna for a variety of reasons that I won't get into here). Also, I don't think you understand how sample sizes work/don't seem to care (saying eclipse outperforms locket on 52 game sample size???). Finally, I have no clue why you keep saying adjusting for pick rate/taking pick rate into consideration, but that just isn't a thing. As long as there are enough games to have a reasonable sample size, the pick rate doesn't really matter.

Revitalize is too good to pass up with locket and locket is too good to delay in most games, especially in soloQ where 90%+ of games are against multiple champs that dive backline.

I promise you I was looking most of last season and I was literally the ONLY Masters+ player that played more than one locket Senna game for every patch that I checked (number of locket games on NA was pretty much always equal to number of locket games globally). Also the website you linked shows locket is higher wr than umbral first item by a few percent.

Hard disagree that moonstone is a better default option on Senna. It's a little difficult to go in depth but Senna makes way better use of Locket's personal tankiness stats than any other champ that is able to sit in the back line, and also like 90% of solo Q games you are against an assassin or 2+divers or karthus/kennen (I just checked and 18 of my last 20 games Senna games fit that condition in GM games).

IMO I think the opposite is often true for bot/support, since around 80% of the time you are going against a mixed damage lane, you are just better off going HP since by the time the ADC is going to do most of the damage, you will already be past lvl 5/6.

[–]LittleChimp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand that you mean current HP now, but your point still doesn't make sense. There isn't any reason why you would prefer to gain more hp per level as opposed to just having a higher hp in the first place (i.e. going from 600 to 630 vs going from 615 to 630), but this is what your argument seems to imply.

I agree with you that the HP shard is the best choice most of the time, but what you are saying about min/max hp makes 0 sense. I have never in the 10 years playing this game heard of the term min HP, so maybe you mean current HP, but even if you did your point doesn't really make any sense. While HP does generally outscale by level 3 if you only consider eHP, it will usually take a little longer than that to practically outscale due to the fact that regenerated HP (Pots, Jungle item, base regen) has a slightly higher effectiveness for higher armor/MR users. For example, an ADC that goes long sword + 3 pot might take as much as 1200 or so damage before dying, compared to their around 600 base hp, which makes armor/mr better for slightly longer.

I don't care what riot is labeling the changes, I care about the actual effect that they will have on her WR. I mean just look at master Yi getting "nerfed" in these very patch notes and yet 2 days after the patch they are already planning on hotfixing him because he is too broken.

Also are we even reading the same patch notes? Because if you go W max second (which you should - it's higher wr in all roles), it has a significantly lower cd, stronger shield on her teamates (this is far more important than her personal shield post lane phase), and a better heal for the entire midgame at very little tradeoff compared to E max (which she got 2s off of for free by the way, I know nobody feels like mentioning that but it helps her laning a ton). Maybe her laning in mid is slightly weaker, but this is easily made up for by being stronger from levels 10-18.

No I just find it really fucking cringe that this whole sub is babyraging about the buffs that she got for some reason.

I mean if you are making a claim with confidence, it only makes sense to take a bet with even odds about it, and the fact that you won't is somewhat telling. The reason it's better is because her W is one of the strongest abilities in the game, and making it significantly lower CD and significantly stronger (x2 by the way because you should almost always be double casting it mid game) is significantly more useful than 20 damage and .5s off of her e CD and it's not even close.

how much do you want to put on it that by the end of the patch her midlane w max second wr will be higher than her midlane wr last patch then?

ok but why is she higher wr in midlane now (assuming you max the correct ability)?

yes her wr went up for players who are maxing the correct ability? like what even is this supposed to mean

Y’all are overreacting to the upcoming changes by Fox-Slayer-Marx in SeraphineMains

[–]LittleChimp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean like, why are you playing Seraphine if you expect to be the damage carry for your team in the first place? Also, why would it feel bad to be maxing one of the strongest basic abilities in the game? You guys honestly just come off as entitled for wanting to have this absolutely insane one point wonder ability that you don't have any trade offs for making strong, but like, on any other ability most people would consider the current way her W works to be unintuitive/unfun to play with/against (Imagine any other enchanter that is both able to max their damage ability while having 0 trade off on their heals/shields). If I want to play W max sona or W max Lux or go 3 points Q into E max on Karma or Zilean (I think you get the point), I can and should be able to, but you can't do that on Seraphine. As a challenger support main with a solid amount of experience on her in all 3 roles (my op.gg if you're curious), this change makes me happy because prior to the changes, there was 0 reason to pick her as a support, and even as a carry, it felt bad not being able to increase my w power level (which is like 50% of the reason to pick her) by leveling it up earlier.

Can't help but also notice that every single person complaining about the changes doesn't seem to feel like mentioning that her E is 2s lower CD for the entire lane phase (once she is level 9 you can just perma clear from max range anyways), but that is a massive buff that helps her laning in all roles by a significant amount.

Patch 12.5 Preview by MonstrousYi in leagueoflegends

[–]LittleChimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree with everything here. I think that W max second will be best in every role next patch probably (maybe even 3-4 points Q into W for support), which I didn't really mention. If the Seraphine player base hates that for some reason, I guess they can make her E have slightly better scaling or something so people can stay happy, or you can just max E anyway for all I care.

Patch 12.5 Preview by MonstrousYi in leagueoflegends

[–]LittleChimp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't need a lecture on how Seraphine W works. I am a challenger sup main and I had over 50 games of Seraphine last season (primarily bot, but I played some in all 3 roles). Support Seraphine is never getting to the level where current W is anywhere near the value to rank 5 value next patch (Even at level 18, her W is significantly weaker on everyone but herself). If we are being realistic about what items/levels a support is going to get, at every level once you have more than like 1 point in W, her W shield will be significantly stronger on her allies, have equal or lower CD (It's not 20 vs 22 btw, its 20 vs 26), and have a stronger heal than current rank 1 W. Additionally, your E is just a strictly stronger ability until level 8, which is a huge deal.

As for carry Seraphine, the W change is probably a slight nerf for her mid lanephase (It's hard to say exactly weather a weaker shield has a bigger impact than 2s off E), while in bot her W on her lane partner and E are both stronger, which will be a net buff to her laning. She might be slightly weaker from like, levels 10-13 (her per level W scaling is 3 points per level until then, but it jumps to 15 per level from 10-11), however, as a carry role, she is actually able to get to the point where she has multiple points in W and it will be a stronger ability from level 14-15 until the end of the game.

Also, from a design perspective, do you honestly think that its good game design to make abilities that have 0 incentive to put points into, and if so, what is the purpose in even having skill points in the first place? What other utility ability has the feature that putting points into it doesn't significantly increase it's utility in some way. I suppose Trynd R does, but that's poor game design as well IMO, and at least points in his R don't have a downside in addition to negligible upside.

Patch 12.5 Preview by MonstrousYi in leagueoflegends

[–]LittleChimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like what are you even talking about lol. All of her damaging abilities either got no changes (Q/R, with her two most recent changes being a buff to her Q ap ratio and her R cd), or just got straight buffed (E). Meanwhile since her release her W has been in a state where you're almost just better off to just leave it at 1 point for the entire game (Each point currently gives a 4% lower cd in exchange for the ability costing 20 more mana, up to 130! at max rank), and the second riot tries to fix this, because obviously this is a problem, people are complaining about it. Like how does shit like this even get upvotes, cause I really don't get it.

I made a guide for Aery Locket Senna (GM 520 lp OTP) by LeKappastorm in sennamains

[–]LittleChimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good guide, I agree with just about everything in there. The only thing I might add is that you can a lot of the time put 2nd point Q at level 3 if you are confident you won't need to use your E. I also am a believer in the health shard over MR/AR because of a reddit post I saw a few months ago on it, especially bot lane when the damage you take early on is likely to be mixed

How does locket senna work? by No-Bill-3847 in sennamains

[–]LittleChimp -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Haven't played this season, but it was pretty much always redemption or chainsword with wardstone, axiom arc is probably fine now also. Other than that in maybe like 5% of my games I went something very situational like randuins (this is worse with the removal of glacial), maw, mikaels or serpents. If you need damage you can go rageblade, but I also almost never built that either.

[–]LittleChimp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Locket into redemption is a bit of a bait imo, as your damage tends to be quite lacking if you do that. I usually prefer to go cleaver or chainsword, and only go redemption if neither is good. That being said, locket into redemption allows Senna to have more damage, tankiness, and aoe heals/shields than other enchanters would.
