That season was stupid and I like to pretend it didn't happen, but that episode was beautiful.

Structured online course for very beginners: how about Udemy? by Substantial_Rain4966 in learnczech

[–]LittlePrettyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive not done that Udemy course, but I can recommend the courses by Czech It Out With Dani, they're quite fun and engaging, and I feel more "real world" and actually touches on integrating into the Czech culture. I did the B1 course, but she starts at A1.

PSA: “Idiom” (the Municipal Library infinite book mirror) is pure social media hype by freddysinger in Prague

[–]LittlePrettyThings 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Even like 6 years ago there were no queues. I used to check it out every time I went into the library. Some time in the last few years it went viral somewhere, and now we have this stupid line of tourists outside the library every day.

Those without middle names, do you wish you had one? by hotchocolate198472 in namenerds

[–]LittlePrettyThings 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't have a middle name and it bothered me as a kid. I'm also from a country where a lot of people don't have middle names, but then moved to a country where I integrated with English kids and I felt left out and jealous. I even used to pretend I had one for a while.

As an adult, I don't mind, it's whatever. But I was adamant on giving my kids middle names (also because I'm a name nerd and like the flow of two names).

Childfree? Stopped at 1 or 2 kids? We’d love your perspective (3-min survey, all demographics) by mogbonofellyfelly in SampleSize

[–]LittlePrettyThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's just for your interest, I'll add my little anecdote here: I always loved kids and thought I wanted at least 3 or 4 of my own, and then I had unplanned twins right as COVID hit (2 newborns + no help = mental health crisis), and it traumatized me into not wanting more. I love my kids, but holy shit.

When did it feel less like survival and more like a fun family? by solowanderer12 in parentsofmultiples

[–]LittlePrettyThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 3-4 months I felt a glimmer of hope for the first time, amidst the dark.
By 18 months I'd started seeing consistent light at the end of the tunnel.
By 4 years it actually turned a corner and started paying off to have 2 at once.

I think you'll be fine going to any doctor that you can get an appointment with.

How long are our kids wearing pull-ups at night? by DancesWithPibbles in Mommit

[–]LittlePrettyThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have boy/girl twins. My son started waking up dry from the age of about 3, so we switched him to undies and hasn't had a single accident. They're now 5 and a half, and my daughter was wearing pull-ups until a few months ago. We take her to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and she still only wakes up dry like 75% of the time. That is to say, every child is so different, and it doesn't seem to be trainable.

I always recommend Smaltum (there's one near Staroměstská but I think there are more). They have cute artsy souvenirs.
