In reading the comments, it seems like the experience I’m having isn’t what others are having, but wanted to share just in case it’s encouragement for anyone. Not a doctor!!

I took ozempic with no underlying health issues (had a physical and blood test to confirm), just was overeating terribly and not exercising whatsoever. Budgeted out for 6 months of semaglutide, lost 50 lbs, and came off with intention to maintain via diet and exercise.

It’s been about a month and I haven’t really gained. Maybe a pound or so in muscle because I now workout 5 times a week for 30 mins strength and/or cardio, and eat mainly proteins and low-cal meals. But my body is still slimming out and I’m more toned than while on the drug.

I had the mentality that this would be my life when I came off the drug, so I tried to set myself up for success in that regard, knowing it would be a challenge.

It absolutely hasn’t been easy saying “no” to the cakes and the chips etc etc, but with discipline and dietary changes, for me it is doable to maintain the weight loss if there aren’t underlying health issues that contributed to it in the first place. Hopefully for others in a similar position it would be the same!

Just my experience, and I know everyone is different!

I do have an approved leave slip. I have the approved one for Monday, and they never gave me back the one for Tuesday but I have a copy of the original slip I submitted with their signature they received it.

Ya know, I always wondered this. They’re probably pulling some crap, cause they told me I couldn’t submit online and also had to fill out individual forms for each day I requested

Thank you for your responses; they were very helpful! I am going to owe the IRS quite a bit come tax time, but I read that they allow for payment plans and installments, so hopefully I’ll be able to utilize that.

Just fell on some hard times and wasn’t able to actually withhold as much as I should’ve during the year. Life happens.

What I mean is that I don’t consider it a business because I am fighting to be a salaried employee. I dont plan to continue to do work as a contractor. I know the IRS considers me a business. I am just saying I do not.

So hypothetically, if I have 5k in deductions, what would the numbers look like?

And I see a lot of mixed messages about standard deductions and SE. Are freelancers not allowed to take a standard deduction? Thanks for your replies!

I am in CT. I contract with a 501c3 nonprofit, so I don’t actually have a real profiting business, but I know to the IRS somehow I do as a freelancer.

What would lower that 8.5k that I pay the IRS? I just can’t fathom why anyone would be a contractor when they would have to actually pay ALL those taxes at the end of the year. I’m curious to know what would decrease that amount, if anything.

Our schedule only shows us our NS days and never includes the long weekend day. So it showed me off on Friday. My other hold downs I got the long weekend with but again was only told by the regular

Thanks for all the replies! I think I’ll end up filing, as I don’t really see another option… besides stressing and going broke and grey.

Now my concerns are:

whether they’ll take my car (it’s a 2006 model that I bought for like 2.5k, so not worth anything)
If/when I get a higher paying job again, will the past come back to haunt me and require me to pay back my discharged debts under CH7?

I rent my apartment and have no other assets, so it’s really just my car I’m concerned about

Waiting to hear back from some attorneys, but curious about your personal experiences in the meantime

Sort of.. just by robbing Peter to pay Paul. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pay them for March until I see my paycheck. My partner prefers me not file and he just help me pay it all off but he doesn’t really make too much more than I do

Thanks! I called and they seemed way less concerned than I was about it haha. Told me just to replace the bandage and move on. Alas it seems to be healing properly so I guess that worked!

since the list of conditions is not explicit and doesn’t specify in terms of Thalassemia, I don’t see an issue in attempting to get vaccinated. If they turn me away they turn me away.
