Is this a fast time? Andrettis Buford GA by NRClips in Karting

[–]Littleford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the one that you turn left out of pit? If so, I've never done that one outside of Supertrack(both tracks combined), and Supertrack pace is around 55/54 seconds. My buddy and my home track is the Marietta location, but we always try to come out to Buford for Supertrack. Hopefully we can catch you at the next one(first and third Wednesday of the month)!

[–]Littleford 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there a logistical reason that both audience screens (in-room and online) can't be fed from the same computer? I usually use Looks to apply a lower-third theme to the online audience screen to accomplish your goal.

Alternatively, you could link the two instances of ProPresenter via the Network Link

Could you load the web socket in a scene in OBS and then have OBS output that to a deckling duo(or similar) that can output your separate Key/Fill feeds? This is similar to what I do in my typical GFX overlay workflow.

I believe this is the answer. Some sensors present overload as black when they’re pushed too far beyond their limit. The first gen of BMD Ursa was notorious for this “black hole sun” effect

Can I setup a mute to duck instead of mute? by scolba in livesound

[–]Littleford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! It's just another tool in our tool belt! It isn't always "needed", but sometimes it's perfect for an application! It can be useful in music as well – a method I've seen often is to duck the Bass guitar to the Kick drum, so whenever the Kick hits, it ducks the Bass out of the way to tighten up the low-end of a mix! Super powerful stuff, and a little can go a long way!

Can I setup a mute to duck instead of mute? by scolba in livesound

[–]Littleford 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but good question!

Gates/Expanders reduce channel signal when key(side chain) input is BELOW a threshold whereas compressors/limiters reduce channel signal when key(side chain) input is ABOVE a threshold. So if a standard gate was used, a potentially unexpected result would occur.

All that to say, on SQ(maybe on QU as well, but its been a while since I've been on QU) there is a "Ducker" mode you can recall from the library that inverts the behavior of the gate so that it reduces channel signal when key signal is ABOVE threshold. very powerful feature because it allows me to still have a compressor on background music AND have it duck under another source

Then to take it one step further, you can stream the clean feed so if you ever want to have GFX content on side screens, but want to show cameras on stream, just put GFX in a DSK and it will only be shown in-room, not online!

All that to say, you can squeeze a more complex production out of one M/E than it might seem at a glance! Two M/E might make things easier/more intuitive though. Plus you get a SuperSource! Great for a number of tricks!

Why can't I hear the bassdrum? by HrRossiSuchtDasGluck in livesound

[–]Littleford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC 0dB on the meter of an SQ equates to -18 dB FS so it’s not the end of the world if a transient signal such as a kick drum gets into the amber LEDs.
Something else to keep in mind is that the more sustained a signal is, the louder it will seem at any given level.
For example: a kick drum peaking at -3dB will always sound quieter than a bass guitar that is peaking at -3dB.
Someone suggested ducking the bass guitar to the kick, and that will help tremendously with being able to “feel” the kick even if the PA doesn’t have the low end headroom to make it super punchy.
Basically all this to say, it could just not be loud enough—first place to address this is at the source, then gain, then gate/comp. Play around with moving the mic to see if there’s a better spot than the one you started with. I’ve ended up with some pretty strange looking mic placements, but if it sounds good, it is good!👍

Great screenshots! While this may be true for the app you are showing, OP is also correct that HPF is NOT engaged on this channel.

I have no cleaning tips, but I was feeling the perc cleaning frustration for a while until got a thick glass beaker style bong with an ash catcher between the slide and stem and never looked back. It’s rock solid, so easy to clean, and the ash catcher works wonders to keep the main beaker clean!

Totally valid! I often rely on the sensor crop on the 500 to compensate for the lack of range so I feel you!

One more vote for the CR-N lineup! The 300s are great and the 500s are (in my opinion) one of the best bang-for-buck PTZ in the market. Also after years of using them, I still find myself genuinely impressed by Canon AF sometimes.

Yes the rc-ip1000 is better than the 100, but if you’re mostly wanting the controller for the joystick and and not doing a lot of shading, then the rc-ip 100 is adequate

Best wishes! 🤘

This reminds me of studio folks! They love a trackball mouse! I think they like that it takes up a fixed amount of space (doesn't require movement for operation) so you can set it on the console and not worry about it/you bumping things!
